A little vanity publishing, agenda driven project of mine, completely lacking in perspective, and reality as I like to delude myself (continually) that Eddie Hearn is a personal friend

As the debate rages (only within the confines of my skull) every week about the level of matchmaking for shows in the UK, I decided to take a look at the Matchmaking on ****** shows in comparison to Hearn shows, and how it has developed since the move to BoxNation and the exclusive deal for with Sky Sports. I have used the 10 point Matchmaking system I use to try and bring a degree of statistical ****ysis to it. Although the system is not perfect I believe it is a fairly accurate way of deciding whether a card has strong or not.

I would like to get feedback from all of you on the scores I have allocated and then I will put together some graphs & charts to give some deeper insight (and you think I'm joking, NO I love making graphs and charts)


The system that I use to score is the following;

Criteria

World Level - Between 2 guys in the top 10 of their division
Competitive - Not a mismatch
Meaningful - Fight is happening for a reason
Fights less than 10 rounds can only score a maximum of 3/5

5 Points - World Level, Highly Competitive & Meaningful
4 Points - Domestic Level & Above, Competitive & Meaningful
3 Points - Competitive & Meaningful
2 Points - Competitive or Meaningful
1 Point - Mismatch

After the fight

5 Star - FOTY Candidate
4 Star - Competitive, Skilled & Entertaining
3 Star - Two of Competitive, Skilled or Entertaining
2 Star - One of Competitive, Skilled or Entertaining
1 Star - Mismatch

Main Events

For Main events the score will be out of 10. The same criteria can apply, but a fight can vary in it's score by a point depending on the fighters level, competitiveness and meaning of the fight.
