I think he can. Its no guarantee of course but when we look at the punchers whom Cobb survived, none of them were really in good form and dissimilar to Foreman. Shavers was past it and in bad health.. Foreman at his best and with a two fisted attack would land at will.
yes he could but if he doesn't Cobb could finish him late if he does not endure too much punishment early
Foreman would crush him, period. And it doesn't even have to be 250 plus foreman who hit harder. Those using shavers as a measuring stick doesn't work either because he was kind of slowed down and past his prime he also couldn't do punch for punch,he didn't have the chin,Shavers was a shell of himself..cobb was only boxing pro for 3 years and was much younger in boxing terms.Cobb also liked pushing opponents back, foreman is not going to let him do that, and he doesn't go in a shell he swings back...I think foreman of 70's stops him in 5 or 6 and 90's foreman stops him in 3.
Yes :deal Cobb wasn't bulletproof, more likely scenario would be George stopping him on cuts or Ref, mercy stoppage due to excessive punishment..
Foreman would KO Cobb,,,, mind you, it would probably be a good fight, well a gross fight, a blood bath because Cobb had the ability to absorb lots of punishment :tired
NO!!!!! My old buddy Tex would be in there with Foreman taking all sorts of punishment while laughing at & tormenting George with " Is that all you got George my wife hits harder"? lol George would run out of steam & the result would be like the Ali fight Tex would stop him As for Earnie Shavers I talked to Earnie in Dallas many years ago & he said " I hit that man harder than Ive knocked guys out cold with & he just stood there & laughed at me. I swear he had concrete poured in his chin" LOL They remained friends after the fight too
I think so, Cobb had a good chin but wasn't indestructible. I feel he'd be pretty much made to order for Foreman who'd land at will and pound Cobb out of there likely in the early rounds. Cobb may get stopped on his feet but I wouldn't rule out Foreman putting him down for 10.
