Andre Michael Berto is a 5'6.5 31 year old Welterweight with a 30-3 23 KO's 1 KO loss record. Born in and fighting out of Winter Haven, Florida. I have to admit I was a very big Berto mark I thought he might be the real deal and of course he's from Florida so I really rooted for him and he seemed pretty legit for awhile and I really thought he would be the next big thing and a KO artist to boot or at least a TKO artist, but I started to have my doubts when he couldn't KO Cosme Rivera who Judah stopped in 3, but I figured it was an off night especially since he got dropped, and then he UD'd Forbes which was fine since Forbes is really hard to stop, but then came the Collazo match which really sent up a red light, I don't think it was a robbery of Collazo, I think it should have been a draw with the point deduction. But it proved that he wasn't as good as I thought he was. He was scheduled to have his first real challenge against Shane Mosley but he had to pull out due to the tragic earthquake that hit Haiti and killed many of his relatives, but had that match gone through it would almost certainly been his first loss of the least his first draw. After a quick 1st round KO of Hernandez (waved off a little too early) going into the match against Ortiz I had a bad feeling it wasn't going to go as planned, I picked Victor for the upset, because I remembered him being rocked by Collazo early in their fight and Collazo ain't no KO artist, add to that being hurt by Estrada and dropped by Cosme of all people and for all of his flaws Vicious Victor packed a hell of a wallop. And just like I thought down goes Berto in the first round and the second and the sixth of a brilliant back and forth match of the year, that took a hell of a lot out of both men.

Then his next match many thought was an easy comeback win for him and once again I picked Guerrero for the upset, because Robert has always been a very underrated fighter, but even I couldn't have predicted Guerrero putting him down once in round one and two. But guess what Berto proved to be damn tough and fought back and had yet another in my estimation FOTY with both of his friggin eyes closed. His comeback against Soto-Karass I found the most depressing of all, he would have most likely handled him with ease but the shoulder injury early in that match really did effect the outcome Soto-Karass isn't on his level and even with one arm Berto was outboxing him at times up until the sad KO ending. At one time I really wanted to see Berto vs Mayweather but he screwed it up twice by losing to Victor and The Ghost but I'm really hoping that Berto is healthy and ready to rumble and gives it everything he's got and maybe, just maybe, somehow, someway pulls the upset of the century, and takes Money to War, that would be glorious. But sadly The Beast's best days are most likely behind him which is exactly why Mayweather chose him...But one can hope can't they. Come On Andre..... You Can Do It.:toney:toney:toney:toney

Too bad the cherry pick won't go wrong. Not now, not ever. If it does, I'll watch the replay. Otherwise, HUGE waste of money.

I was at the Quintana and Urango fights.

Back then I was a big fan of Berto.

I'll be rooting for him come 9/12 (well, 9/13 on a youtube replay)

We have Winter Haven which is an incredibly dull place not worth visiting and Winter Park which is even worse its down right depressing.
