I think the fight was extremely close. arlovski landed more shots and did more damage. I think arlovski won the fight
I already said I didn't see the fight in your OWN post, hence the post, however UFC's own Dana White said once again another bad decision call..last time I checked it was always scored by rounds not who scored better in certain ones?:-( For the record when Arlovski's arm was raised the crowd was booing maybe they also need their eyes checked?maybe they had to much drinks that they were impaired to judge for themselves, who knows?
The judges scored the fight unanimously in Arlovskis favor, most of the fight media did, the stats favor Arlovski as well. Nobody cares about what Dana White, or a bunch of drunk casuals think. You need people like that to do your thinking? You aren't capable of doing it yourself?
Arlovski clearly won the first. Mir edged the second with that takedown and the third was starting to swing in Mir's favor after he got top control after that shove down but Arlovski hit that kimura sweep and then bloodied Mir with some nice lefts as he dominated the exchanges in the final minute. No real way you could give Mir that fight. Unless you had a vested interest in him winning.
Arlovski won a close boring fight but Andrei must be disappointed. Mir is stronger than him mentally but was overweight, gassing and slowing but Andrei's brain froze up on him and he just wouldn't let his hands go. When he wasn't scared to throw more than 1s and 2s he got success.
You never know what you're going to get with Arlovski... Mentally I think he definitely froze up, but he doesn't always do that. Against Browne, and Bigfoot he was as confident as you'll ever see him, maybe he was worried about Mir countering him? I think while a mentally tougher, and more confident fighter Mir isn't the talent Arlovski is, I think if this fight had happened in 2005 like it was supposed to Arlovski probably would have knocked Mir out early.
Funnily enough Mir has had to overcome brain freeze like against Carwin, Lesnar etc. I agree that Arlovski was bolder, perhaps too gung ho but the odds for a ko are in his favour.
mir has struggled with strong wrestlers ,Arlovski is not a physically strong ground and pounder, rthats not his style and mit is stronger than Arlovski physically. In shape I would say Mir wins.I don't like either ones chances of becoming UFC champ but Mir is the better all around fighter when hes on.I think he could still make a title run being he wasn't all that good with Arlovski and still Arguably won....I don't know haven't seen the fight myself yet.
