You don't get points or pointers when you lose a pro fight,an L can ruin your career in boxing,its not play time it goes on your record.The best champs ever have great amateur experience was the point.You actually learn more in the amatuers,you take a big risk at Hw if you are rushed into a pro career.A select few have done it...a "SELECT" few!Yes you progress with pro level guys,but its the experience overall that get you further,unless you have extreme natural talent like Tyson,who off the top of my head is the only Hw champ to be rushed out of the amatuers.

Of course they are important, but you don't learn skills in the amateurs that you couldn't in the pro league. And like I said before, all those listed above are great fighters full stop. Chances are if you are a great amateur you will turn out to be a great pro, it's still the same sport at the end of the day.

 

Golota had knee injury and lidocaine problem.
Mccall had mental and maybe drug problem.
Bruno-who could outland lewis easily- had stamina problem.

These weren't impessive wins at all.

- Rahman destroyed the 253.5 pounds Lewis by classic one punch ko.
-The 251 pounds Lewis beat a mental collapsed mccall.
-The 250 pounds Lewis knocked out a bad version very fat Botha.
(The pathetic version Tyson destroyed a younger,faster version Botha by classic one punch ko.)

never proved outstanding punching power.
The Mccall,vk wins were lucky Rahman destroyed him and he beat

No it wasn't lucky at all it was a 100% deserved win considering Lewis showed mediocre power , zero skill, speed and vk. outclassed him won more rounds landed much more punches than Lewis .
