When's the last time a Mayweather opponent didn't mock him post-fight?

Yeah - that's a theory - but, what's it got to do with the difference between winning a bout and beating one's opponent; or, Mayweather generally leaving his opponents in tact; or, it being a rare approach; or, only a few of his opponents having come close to turning a bout with Mayweather into an actual fight; or, Floyd never really meeting his bogeyman?

That's pretty pathetic when the highlight of a TBE fight is 1 punch!

Miguel Cotto didn't say anything negative about Mayweather after the fight, and to this day, he has only spoke about Mayweather to give him praise.

Canelo has said some minor negative things, but he has also acknowledged Mayweather as the best, and never mocked him, he did mock Lara though.

You know during the TR days, Cotto would watch Mayweather everyday while he was training.

Cotto has profound appreciation for Mayweather and his talents, that's why he never has anything bad to say about him, even in a losing effort.

I think Cotto sees Mayweather kind of like a master and an idol to a degree.

I think that's also why Cotto had so much successes against Mayweather, cuz he knows so much about him, watching him on the up and up.

Berto never said he had a blueprint to beat Floyd he said he will die trying. He didn't expect to win

In reality Floyd has lost a few times unofficialy but business sense for everyone involved was to keep him undefeated. Good he's gone now better for the sport.

Just things like Floyd was smart for not fighting him like he fought Maidana in the first fight, and in his post fight interview after the Kirkland win, it felt like he took a little shot at Floyd.

I think this is correct. Cotto didn't deluded himself into thinking he was just better than Floyd, he knew how good Mayweather was, so he came up with a brilliant game plan, and gave him one of his toughest fights ever. No shame in losing when you put up and effort like that.

berto - moved boxed, "ran" if you want to call it that? a few times he got into a war with him round 6 was a really good round

pac - floyd took no chances in this fight against a dangerous opponent, played it very carefully like a chess match, used the jab beautifully against a southpaw and refused to let pac come in and out as he wanted to, held one of the greatest combination punchers EVER to throwing single shots. floyd won a relatively boring fight, neither fighter looked impressive both landed some good shots here and there

maidana 2 - boxed, moved but s****ped enough to make it an interesting fight

maidana 1 - rough fighting on the inside in the pocket against the ropes for 90% of the fight, def no "running" here

canelo - floyd walked the bigger canelo down for half the fight, when he was not the aggressor himself he was countering beautifully off the backfoot (prob the last time i saw floyd look like floyd)

guerrero - countering and rolling out with precision, looked technically great. because floyd was still sharp in this fight i really enjoyed it, gave guerrero a hell of a beating in round 7 aswell

cotto - like the maidana fight also reminiscent of the jesus chavez fight from floyds early days. a great display of inside fighting by both men, floyd hurts cotto in the 12th, goes onto win a very hard fought victory in an entertaining fight

ortiz - ortiz came on strong with multiple tactics, some legal some not so much. floyd though on the back foot racks up landing shots off the backfoot, starts to find his range and in round 4 comes out and starts really opening up on ortiz with heavy combinations, ortiz so frustrated that the fight was not going his way blatently headbutts floyd and paid the price for it, entertaining fight especially how it ended (though i would have loved to see floyd continue to break down ortiz to a great stoppage which would have happened by the 8th round)

seriously i appreciate floyds technical ability but only very recently have i not been enjoying his fights, since the canelo fight iv watched him slip, he is not landing those shots he normally would at will such as his crispy left hook right hand over the top in the recent berto fight he tried soo much but never landed) or the pull counter he landed VERY VERY few times on maidana. i loved watching floyd make his opponent pay for every mistake they made such as not bringing their hands back fast enough. glad he retired, he was very vulnerable to losing his record and when your pushing 40 no one can argue

cotto stormed out of the ring post fight with mayweather and posted on social media saying he won that fight

i think he later watched the fight back himself and saw what we all saw

When guys say "He ran too much", all I hear is "Im too slow and unskilled in cutting off the ring to lay a glove on him"
