Larry Holmes: If I fought who Wladimir Klitschko fought, I'd have 40 title defenses

how many of those were a proper KO? 1 or 2? Most were stoppages against the ropes like Spinks and Snipes. Wlad has how many savage KO's against ranked contenders?

He was a great fighter but he wasn't exciting and he had a lot of mediocre opposition and boring fights. Sounds like the complaints about someone else I know........

I think Larry's biggest strength was his consistency, he always performed to roughly the same level and was always that little bit better than his better opponents.

that is half of Holmes title defenses. Those guys are awful. 5 of them should have never been near a title fight. Holmes era was awful.

Plus he never held as many belts. Wlad has had 3 out of 4 for most of his reign and was only denied the wbc by Vitali's comeback. Several of Wlad's opponents would go life and death with Holmes, no doubt about it, and would blast out dudes like those listed on his resume, not rely on judges cards. No evidence Larry's claims have any substance anyway.

It isn't an oppinion, it is fact. You are a young man who does not remember that Larry was not much lauded by anyone in his own time because he was a coward who did not pursue the best fights his era had to offer. The rest of your post is just ****. Lets repeat the fact here:

Holmes did not even dominate his era. He arguably lost to Norton, got gifts against Witherspoon and Williams, OPENLY ducked Page and Thomas, never unified a belt, and lost to a LHW.

    He just wasn't that good.

It is very simple really. Wlad has already passed him in length of reign and is close to passing his 20 title defenses. The closer Wlad gets the more and more Holmes is going to insult him and people on here will still try and act like Holmes fought a murderers row of Heavyweights in his reign. There is a reason why hardly anyone in Boxing likes Larry. Larry cares about Larry and nothing else.

Actually Larry is one of the most accessible and friendly of all the ex-champs. He has a lot of time for boxing fans and always shows up at events and signs autographs. There's some others who I respect as great champions who really aren't as cool with fans as Larry is. Holmes is very down to earth.

I am not a young man; you are just ignorant. Ignorant now and you were clearly ignorant back then (if you were ever out of nappies at that point at all).

You need to learn the difference between a fact and an opinion.

    Fact: Holmes beat Norton
    Fact: Holmes beat Witherspoon
    Fact: Holmes beat Williams
Fact: Holmes was considered the lineal champion
Fact: Holmes went 48-0-0 as a pro before being defeated
Fact: Holmes did not unify the titles
Fact: Holmes lost to a blown up Light Heavyweight

In Your Opinion: Holmes was a coward
In Your Opinion: Holmes did not even dominate his era
In Your Opinion: Holmes arguably lost to Norton
In Your Opinion: Holmes got gifts against Witherspoon and Williams
In Your Opinion: Holmes openly ducked Page and Thomas
In Your Opinion: Holmes just wasn't that good

Now **** off and get an education you warp-viewed dullard.

When did Holmes ever give a title shot to his own sparring partner he had already dominated and sent home for a previous opponent:-(

    Don't say Ali

Larry built a large education complex in his town town out of his own pocket.

    Larry is a good man.
