GGG also never demanded 50/50 splits with bigger names than him and would've been happy to fight for short money if it meant getting the fights. That's another detail Alt Account #3486 hasn't taken into account in their trolling.

Ward, 50/50 at 168, is charity from GGG. If Ward wants it at 168, he's not getting that split. Nor should he.

People have pretty low standards for a "star" if GGG is considered one at least right now. When its a guy people like they never acknowledge them ducking, just like if it's a guy they dislike everything is a duck or cherry pick.

GGG doesn't make it past Canelo anyway so it is what it is.

 

Golovkin is making big money by fighting title unifications, Ward is a nobody. Ward wants Golovkin to go up 8 lbs, when Ward won't even go up 2 or 3 lbs. and fight Stevenson, actually, Stevenson said he would come down to 168. When asked about Kovalev, Ward said that Kovalev was to big for him. Ward wants big money in his home town with his personal referee, judges, boxing commission, etc., who cares about Ward, hugging, elbowing, headbutting and taking all the money......................let Ward fight in his natural weight, 175, there he can fight Stevenson, Kovalev, Beterbiev, etc.

 

I am going to laugh when Little G PPV does 100k buys. People are happy to watch him for free but paying is a different story. It will flop.

The difference is that he's been ducked by the best middlweights. He never claims to have been ducked by Jr MWs, he always wanted to fight Sturm, Martinez, Soliman, Cotto or whoever was best at MW at the time. So really there's no hypocrisy, him choosing not to fight Ward is not ducking. Martinez and the co choosing not to fight the next best fighter at MW is ducking.

 

Cotto and Canelo won't fight GGG at 160, and GGG won't fight Ward at 168. So unless GGG compromises, then he isn't fighting those lads. Canelo/Cotto will fight each other again before they fight GGG, unless GGG goes to 154. So I don't think Golovkin has much bargaining power. They can harp on about the winner of Canelo/Cotto all they like, but all they will get is the vacant 160 belt that Cotto will be forced to give up, one that he doesn't need at this point in his career anyway.
