Are you one of the people who always rated DeGale higher than Groves?

I know Groves got the decision in their fight but I felt James won, I remember all of the **** people were saying about DeGale on here about how he looked like a bum until one year ago when he signed with Hearn then half of them changed their tune.

Billy Nelson was the only one who I remember other than myself who always rated DeGale highly, like I did, and felt he won against Groves. A load of Eddie kock suckers came out of the wood work when DeGale joined Matchroom but I think it's still too early to write off Groves.

Yes DeGale for me is the better fighter, but Groves may make a comeback he's still young you can't write him off just yet.

It's a little strange, I wanted Groves to beat DeGale but have always thought DeGale would go on to be more successful.

DeGale went over the top before the Groves fight, he was the arrogant bad guy, he needed humbling, he got humbled and Deagale himself has turned it all around and is very well received and liked wherever he goes now and I'm very happy for him and his family.

On the flip side Groves went from being loved to acting like a complete moron in the build up to Froch II.

It's quite funny to see how it's completely turned around for the two of them, the difference is DeGale has grown up, gone away and proved he is the fighter most of us expected him to become.

Groves isn't performing at the same level. He needs to change something.

Groves got Cobra'd, lucky for DeGale Carl Froch retired and didn't send Degale's career down the same path!!

Always rated degale higher. There is not that much between them though. Rematch would still be close.

No. Until he does I won't rate him more highly either.

Yes, and had him edging their fight as well. Laughed my ass off that the judges scored it for Groves, because DeGale really came off as a arrogant ***** to me.

For all Degale's gloating about Groves' loss on Saturday, he's 0-2 against the ginger Ninja. James is always going to struggle with popularity unfortunately, there isn't a fan base who will tune in just to watch him regardless of the opponent, something Groves has had for a while.

I thought DeGale looked really good in his early fights but he was too arrogant going in to the Groves fight and he fought arrogantly. It was a close fight either way.
Thing is, they were both quite inexperienced and it wasn't exactly a convincing win by Groves. I think people who worshipped 'the genius of' Adam Booth at that time (and there were many here) fooled themselves into believing it was some sort of masterful boxing. It's debatable whether Groves improved at all since then, and surely he's regressed by now, whereas DeGale obviously learned not to take opponents so lightly.

DeGale has a lot of talent.

no doubt he improved. waited, waited and picked a world class shot against smith, did the same against froch. Groves was on the rise.

Froch looks to have had a lasting effect on him.

Groves has some of the best fundementals in british boxing down pat, which is why froch had so much difficulty in the first fight and abandon the style he had his whole career in the second and boxed.

The poster who said maybe its a good thing froch didn't fight degale. I agree. never seen degale do anything past the 6th round. almost threw away the world title due to stamina

I'm in a minority who thought highly of degale, wasn't sure he was better than groves until the pro fight. I thought he won that fight by 2 rounds and had a small bet on him to win too. Degale is on the rise while groves is in a bit of a decline.

Groves can comeback as it was a close fight against jack. Degale is more skills.

I felt Groves beat Degale by decision, but rated them at a similar level.
I dont think Groves has recovered from the first (debateable) loss to Froch and has had many tough fights for such a short career.
I think it took Degale a bit to get over the Groves loss as he didnt look back to normal in his first fight after.
I picked for Groves to beat Degale in their first fight, but wouldnt bet on Groves if they were to face each other next.
I favoured Groves to beat Froch first time also but wasnt confident in the return.
A loss affects some fighters badly and they never come back from it, when they can be very good before the loss and losing to fighters they would likely have beaten in the very next fight after

    Edit

I thought Groves edged B Jack
