Based on what? Beating D-level fighters in a very average career?

Calzaghe had the best adaptability I've seen in a fighter other than Mayweather and perhaps Hopkins, he would keep GGG on the end of that jab all night. You say Calzaghe had never fought a KO artist like GGG, but GGG has never fought someone even close to Calzaghe.

Joe has the better ring IQ, better jab, better workrate and stamina, MUCH better speed, better adaptability, and is the bigger more athletic guy.

Even the hardened GGG fan will have a tough time saying he wins this, it's completely the wrong fight for GGG.

GGG wins but gets robbed by Calzone's judges in Wales.

At that stage, I'd have to fancy Joe.

    I can see that, too.

Joe had this weird ability to negate and disrupt good timing.

But I can also see Golovkin, in a scenario where he dropped Calzaghe early like Hopkins and Roy, having continued success before Joe made an adjustment because he's prime and possesses stellar timing with nice pop.

Surprise nobody picked Golovkin by decision (and I'm actually surprised that only 1 person picked Calzaghe by KO, incidentally, too).

Calzaghe would outbox GGG into a stupor with a kangaroo-like jumping around slap fest.
GGG would literally stop in his tracks with his eyes glazed over.

    Gotta go with Calzaghe here.

They're both special fighters, very special. Joe was a little bit larger, had an excellent chin and had that insane workrate. Joe might have to get off the canvas once or a couple of times, but I'm picking him here.

It would be a great fight.

Calzaghe would never have the cojones to face GGG. ROFL He tried to get out of the Lacy fight but Enzo made him fight.
    GGG would annihilate Slappy:hi:

i would have to see what effect ggg's punching power would have on bigger guys. if calz can go the full 12, i could see him slapping his way to a points win.
