Helenius best wins are Peter and Brewster, two big stoppage wins that catapulted him to the top of the rankings as nobody except Wlad had stopped these guys. No way is Teper better than these two dudes, but the question is is Helenius back to that level. I think he might be, certainly this fight would be the acid test of that. Would love to see Helenius fulfill the potential he showed and this fight could be the perfect statement. Teper, big puncher and very similar in some ways to Helenius but I haven't seen enough to say he's the real deal and his conditioning is poor.
Helenius' best win was a knockout of Sam Peter. Great fight. I like both these guys and don't want to see either lose. Sadly, I just don't see how he can be back to that level. The bad shoulder injuries requireing surgery are often career enders, like with Buddy Mcguirt. I hope I am wrong.
You may well be right on that, Sherman and Sprott suggested so. Teper will tell us if he has a future as live contender.
I used to thing Price's chin issues were largely overstated until I saw what a horrendous knockout he delivered to the English giant.
Teper pulls out of the fight due to arm injury, Helenius will fight Franz Rill instead (link in finnish) http://www.iltasanomat.fi/nyrkkeily/art-1448938354045.html
Such a shame, was hoping this win would put Helenius back on track. Had high hopes for his career until his "layoff" for a couple of years. The dismantling and destruction of Liakhovich was pretty impressive.
Was looking forward to see this fight. Rill is a decent replacement, but will be overpowered by Helenius.
I was looking forward to it as well. And I don't think Rill is ready for this level yet. We'll probably get Teper-Helenius somewhere around march next year.
