If Mayweather genuinely is retired, then why has he not yet vacated?

No talk of it yet either. Everyone seems to have overlooked this glaringly obvious point.
    Has anybody heard otherwise yet?

My sentiments exactly. The ultimate salesman.
I have a theory that may prove unpopular...
I don't think that breaking the Marciano record is his true goal. I believe that he will hang 'em up when he can say he's earnt a billion dollars. He's claiming over £700m now so this could be reasonably acheived within 2 fights if he puts his Sales head on.

The organizations are probably waiting for a proper confirmation from him before officially vacating. Sooner or later, they will do it themselves.

The only rumour I've heard is that the WBC have asked for clarification of said retirement. But that is only a rumour for now.

I think the Cotto/Alvarez winner is a more likely scenario and at this moment in time, possibly makes the most money. Another title at another division.
The only fork in the road would be the eventual clamour for the Golovkin fight if Floyd has then proven his ability to hang at 160lbs.

Like some one said, he still have a few bags of IV in the fridge...can't just toss them away. He's it all before leaving.

Why must these threads always descend into mud slinging?

He isn't retired. But I'm pretty damn sure he will never defend one of his WBC belts anymore.

    Winner of Canelo/Cotto 2 then Pac 2 = $1 billion

If he manages to keep his obvious PED using quiet that is.

Well if comparatively his Berto PPV bombed, then surely that's a clear indication to him that the public won't just buy anything he sells them anymore (Even the Guerrero fight was what, 900k sales?)

So surely if he is to comeback people need to believe there is a significant chance of him losing. Food for thought
