Are you one of the people who always rated DeGale higher than Groves?

Would still back groves to beat degale if he changed a few things. Dont believe the cobra,d chat for a second. Groves seems to have had a change of tactics since the second froch fight. Still believe groves,s biggest flaw isnt either his stamina or chin but complacency. Hes almost too confident in his ability. A bit like khan at times. He thought he had that second froch fight won before even entering the ring. Same with the jack fight. Hes fought in that manner since froch 2. Its almost like hes started to believe because he had froch all over the place in the first fight he can just go in and over power people. Groves needs to get back to walking people into his shots again. More of a counter puncher with power. Its too predictable from him at the minute.

I always believed DeGale was better than GG, even when he "lost" to Groves and was fighting in Bluewater. Groves couldn't beat Badou Jack, DeGale would deal with Jack within 6.

It was froch who changed his tactics the second fight

Not a chance. Carl boxes one way and one way only.

It was a terrible fight in any case.

Said groves changed tactics after the froch 2 fight. Believing because he had froch all over the place the first fight he could do it with lesser fighters after froch. Has ended up negating his biggest strengths. Needs to get back to it. Walking people into his shots. For me biggest reason froch won was because he holed himself down in sheffield drilling things for weeks leading up to it more than any major change of tactics.

Meanwhile groves was talking about having the fight won any way he wanted. And busy organising open top buses for his entrance.

I always thought they were on coming along at the same level. Before and after their fight.

I remember Booth discussing the tactics against Degale. How Degale ploughs forward with straight combos and how Groves trained to counter :bbb
Haye also mentioned that Booth would never let you throw a left hook on the ropes :scaredas: corba'd

Groves would be world champ if he had have stuck with Booth. Beating both Froch and Jack

I used to have concerns about Degale's power...he never sat down on his shots and had a tendency to slap (and still does to an extent).

Seems to have genuine power though and is certainly above groves who appears to have regressed since Froch 1.
