Don't make me laugh. For a start, most of Calzaghe's punches were technically illegal with the inside the glove; Chris Eubank always threw with picture-perfect form.
I like Eubank Jr. There, I said it so no-one else has to.... I'll be tuning in to his fights, especially a re-match against Saunders. I will say he has a unique style and may fly the flag abroad well with Sr in tow. Can you imagine a 'behind the ropes' special co starring Sr, make it big stateside like! 3hr special.....
Eubank wasn't finished when he fought Calzaghe, he went on to give a very good account of himself twice against Thompson at CW. Chris was past his best when he fought Joe but he wasn't shot, and yes Calzaghe schools any version of Eubank.
Your right he wasn't shot, but he was nowhere near his prime, plus he took the fight at short notice and had to lose a lot of weight quickly
Calzaghe would never go 12 rounds with a prime Chris Eubank. Far too open for the right hand. And Eubank pre-knee injuries had perhaps the sneakiest perfect straight counter we've seen.
With his technically precise punching no doubt! He'd be literally hit at will with the Eubank right hand, absolutely no way he sees the final bell unless Eubank poses and lets him.
I get the drift, but he had come from behind wins and stoppages against Benn and Watson which are very good wins. He didn't show any inclination to fight the top Americans and has too many boring defences against nobodies.
Yep he has always been overrated, yet hes known to casuals and Ken Buchanan is unknown... yet Eubank didn't have half the abilty Buchanan had.
