Viktor Postol training with Roach for the Matthysse fight

    Postol will fight Matthysse for the vacant WBC 140 title on 10/3.

    This is on paper one of the best fights of the remainder of the year. Postol is tall, rangy, has a good jab and fairly fast hands who likes to keep his distance as opposed to Matthysse who for the most part fights on the inside. I believe this partnership with Roach is new, if memory serves me right he had a different trainer before.

    Do you think Roach can escalate him to a new level and Postol can keep Lucas in distance to get a decision? I expect Lucas to knock him out around 3-4. Do you guys think Postol has any chance at all?

    You mean before his last fight or for a while since? I think they partnered after he KO'd Aydin and became DSG's WBC mando.

    What can Roach help him with to beat Matthysse exactly?

    Postol needs to use his size and dominate with the jab...or it's going to be night night. He already fights small & takes away his size advantage.

    Matthysse to break him down and stop him. Postol will be holding and using the ropes alot. He will have to show another side of himself in terms of toughness and boxing ability to overcome Lucas...

    Postol doesn't fight small. What the hell are you talking about? Sometimes he stands up too straight, which got him put on *****-street by an over-hand from Aydin.

    Have you seen Postol fight before?

    Roach likes his fighters to fight aggressively, this will be a good fight, but Matthysse will catch up with him sooner or later, hope Matthysse is not cheated like he usually is.......................He knocked out Peterson in the 3rd round and Peterson had the height and reach, moved and boxed, but Matthysse caught up with him. I wish Matthysse good luck, he deserves to become a champion................

    People say Postol has no power, but he straight up folded Aydin like a lawn chair. Doesn't seem like anyone has KO'd Aydin previously either. I think people are too quickly dismissing Postol's power.

    not sure about the winner of this fight. could go either way, but it will be an entertaining fight for sure. im backing matthyse i feel he has proven himself more at the elite level and is simply a safer bet

    Not sure Roach will get the best out of him to be honest, same as with Provo.

    OP is right though, this should be a great fight

    Am I alone in thinking that Postol is going to completely outbox him? To be fair Lucas has surprised me in the past but Postol is a very tricky boxer and his wins against Lundy and Aydin really impressed me.
