The Ali Raymi Conspiracy One of the most interesting characters of 'the internet age', Ali Raymi is/was an undefeated boxer born in Mecca and fought every one of his professional fights in Yemen. He is in the Guinness book of records as his first TWENTY fights were won by KO. His nicknames are GOD and T.G.E (the greatest ever). His reputation was growing more and more as he was as much known for his outrageous, self praising quotes https://www.facebook.com/aliraymiquotes as he was for his 'boxing skills'.Also coming down to the ring with men with machine guns. Some fans believed the hype, a lot of fans thought it was just a marketed internet media hype job and some even believe he was a fictional character, as not a lot of footage or pictures of him exist and some saying its a different man in some videos/pictures.(he mysteriously only gave interviews to one interviewer), he also said himself "I dont like discussing my pre-boxing past as I feel it will be considered inappropriately semi-legendary" As his record grew to 26 fights and 26 Wins all by Knock Out fans were starting to want to see him fight the best, then all of a sudden on May 22nd 2015 he was apparently injured in a suicide bomb attack and died the next day. World Boxing Association rankings that came out in June ( a month AFTER he 'died') still had him ranked as an active/alive fighter. Some news articles have mocked the WBA for messing up by including a dead man in their rankings but they have NEVER received any confirmation that he has passed away. There has NEVER been any death certificate, funeral, grave site etc shown to the media. Did someone realise they couldn't continue with this 'fake' boxer now that the call for him to be involved in a big fight were getting stronger and helped him disappear/fake his death ? was he genuinely a great talent that died young? is his 'death' just another of his attention grabbing publicity stunts and he will come back soon? also - he was supposedly wounded on May 22nd and interestingly almost all of his fights took place at 22 May Stadium, coincidence or one big clue ? someone needs to look into this or write a book, the stuff of legends
You know, now that i read it in this way... it makes sense. The date 22 is too perfect to be a coincidence.
Career was fake, death was real. You know how I know that? Hani Ansi was being hyped up as the big challenge to Raymi (and even fought his nemesis Prince Maz) - and lo and behold, Ansi hasn't fought since Raymi died. No more "superfight" = no reason to keep manufacturing the kid's record.
to be fair Raymi only went into hiding in May, an army Colonel would know how to hide out https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ali_Raymi#/media/File:Colonel-Ali-Raymi.jpg
Ansi debuted late in 2013, fought a dozen times in 2014 and nine times between January and March of this year. Now five months have gone by (three since Raymi's death) and he doesn't even have anything scheduled. The whole point to Ansi's career was to build him up for a payday with Raymi. With the A-side of that one deceased, Ansi no longer serves a purpose, thus, we can extrapolate, the cessation of his activity.
but why not continue with his 'fake' career just like they did with Raymi's? think maybe they realised they both were being found out and with Raymi being the bigger name he disappeared ? :blood
Raymi was the A side, the one that created a huge presence for himself on social media and forums (even if most of the attention was tongue-in-cheek) and was, absurdly, for a time world ranked and considered a possible opponent for some big names by serious boxing media publications. Ansi was supposed to be his big cash-out payday and "challenge" but Ansi needed him even more than vice-versa. Hani doesn't have a fraction the global celebrity Ali built up and nobody is going to buy the same act twice (Ansi is basically a Raymi clone, smashing his way through an improbably deep roster of local stiffs boasting winning records, many 'undefeated'). I think most likely when Raymi died they just shrugged and packed up the whole operation.
the only reason they would do that is if it was them that ended it otherwise it woulda been just as easy to carry it on with ansi
No it wouldn't. The Raymi story was interesting because it was oddball & unique. The same thing all over again was never going to appeal to anyone. Interesting once, but you can't bottle lightning twice.
Raymi ko 1 Rigondeaux and Fraud Squad same night. There will be a movie for sure. Has all the trappings of an Oscar award winning film. He is an ATG of the highest order. Ansi would've just been another ko1 for Raymi.
