Even SportsCentre that usually neglects boxing, covered it (although they could cover boxing more now that PBC bought air-time from ESPN).

I had honestly thought that people wouldn't care about Wilder, but he seems to have already gotten casuals on his side...judging from social media/coverage.

An American HW that may have a chance at being a super star will get coverage .. Let's just hope he steps up in class and continues to win..

He cannot even fill out a basketball court in his home town.

    The guy is a joke.

well povetkin is his mandatory with purse bids arranged for next month but something tells me the wbc will find a way of getting wilder out of that tricky match up

finding out who wilders next opponent will be is easy, look at the wbc top 15 and pick the worst guy you can find

Duhapaus was not a can. He beat Charr quite convincingly and he has an iron jaw. Wilder said before that he has an iron jaw too.

Wilder since winning the title in Jan has defended it twice and may defend it again this year, that's 3 defenses in less than a year.

To be fair, he can't fight the top guys that often. If he fights them sooner rather than later, he will run out of good fights for the future.

George Foreman fought a lot of cans in his early career before progressing higher. Hell, he had only fought TWO notable contenders before destroying Frazier.

I find it hard to believe that Wilder is a ''bum'' - how did he win a Bronze Medal? Why was Emmanuel Steward, a legend compelled enough to say Wilder can become great? These aren't things to take lightly.

Boxers who train since the age of 4 or 5 try their best to win Olympic medals and they can't; Wilder started boxing at 21 and won a Bronze, and then earned recognition from a legendary trainer.

Is Wilder perfect? **** no, but the way people rag on him is unwarranted.

wilder won his bronze medal at the Olympics because the competition wasn't seeded and he got the easiest draw ever, he got to face two useless Africans. One was completely fat and out of shape and most believe the African was robbed on countback, when he faced a good fighter in russo he got embarrassed by a man a foot shorter than him and the commentary were laughing there butts off at wilder.

can people please know there facts before throwing out the 'he won a bronze medal' argument.

stewart also said fury would become great, he said tony Harrison would become great(look what happened to him) andy lee etc the fact is stewart said that about tons of people it doesn't mean that much tbh

Wilder looked great, he was throwing far more punches than just the jab and straight like he did against Stiverne. The guy is evolving. A year from now I'd pick him to beat any boxer on this planet.

This is exactly how I think as well. I don't know why there is so much hate towards Wilder.

Maybe he will step up to fight some bus drivers or teachers next. Still a step up there.

Wilders team has the WBC on a string, clearly money is changing hands.

List the easiest fights from the top 15 as you say and take your pick.

Seriously? You think that's a valid excuse for an Olympic medal?

Olympic medals are ****ing HARD to get! Many boxers from different countries will train their whole lives for one, and they will not even be good enough to get onto the team. It's not something you can just ''get'' - it takes world class athleticism, skill and dedication to get there.

I know a lot of boxers who have trained since a young age and they're simply not good enough. What Wilder did, with a start at age 21, is quite amazing.
