I think the fight will happen as long as the money is right, which I suspect it will be. Povetkin offered him $10 million earlier in the year and that's more than he would get against Wlad and I can't see any other big money options for Wilder that could match what Povetkin's team are willing to pay him.

But with Wilder being a Haymon fighter you never know what he will do. Haymon will put his plans ahead of a fighters and if he doesn't want Wilder to face Povetkin he will do anything to prevent it, which includes dumping the belt.

 

Wilder isn't a puncher when he fights upper tier fighters and I use that term lightly because he has fought only 1 top 10 guy in 35 fights.......
