Hard to disagree with that assessment.

McNeely's speech is extremely slurred, but you're right, his sentence structure is still intact.

    yes

I love following boxing, love to hit the speed bag, but I would never want to get hit in the head.

I had a co worker who, like me was an avid boxing fan. He took it to the next level and entered tough man competitions in West Virginia, then started taking the bus from NW DC, where he worked, to NE or SE to spar. More power to him.

This was my take. McNeely does SOUND terrible - his speech is noticeably slurred. However, mentally, he appears okay - his thoughts are coherent, he is able as you noted to retain a fairly complex vocabulary and use it properly. I am not a neurologist, but from a layperson's perspective, he seems pretty together cognitively.

    I was expecting worse.

Not to say his speech quality hasn't deteriorated, as he sounded like a 70 year old Mafia don with the ho****ness. The annunciation, use of big words, and lack of stuttering was encouraging.

Parkinson's comes from damage to the cerebellum/substancia negra in the back of the head which regulates dopamine. Punch it enough and you get Parkinson's.

Thanks for posting this. I never would have seen it otherwise. I love the public access production values (reading notes on her phone ). It would be difficult to determine how much damage there actually is or its cause given what he had to work with and all of his extracurricular activities.

The safeguards that this form has set up to avoid inappropriate words or phrases is pathetic and seems to be more offensive its methods then if the minority of people that would do so would use the potentially offensive language.

It worked just fine, the fight was fixed and needed to end before 1:30.

Sounds perfectly co herent to me taking into consideration his Boston accent.Sentences well structured and answers all questions perfectly fine with solid vocabulary.Slurs a bit but I understand he has always had a slight slur.
