Strongest fighters.

I think Lewis was stronger than many give him credit for. Maybe not Foreman strong, but nevertheless, he was stronger than most.

 

add marciano..it was the major factor in his winning......well, also put in stamina.....if these had been just those of the average heavyweight, he wouldn't even have been a contender...

 

I think that was due to Ali's intelligent application of leverage, i.e., his skill in "in the ring wrestling" and his speed and not due to superior physical strength...I'm certain that if they had a street fight that Foreman would have broken Ali's neck before killing him,...as he would have done to damned near every other heavyweight champion of history.

I can guarantee the "strongest" fighters do not necessarily equate to "the best". I'd bet Carnera, Valuev and similar giants are "stronger" than a Foreman. Doesn't mean they are better.

 

Ali was not stronger than Foreman...NO WAY. I don't believe Ali is qualified to be on anyones list here anyway as the thread is targeting fighters who got by on physical strength without much skill or relied on strength more than skill,if im correct?

Ali handled Foreman in the holding department, but I think Foreman had greater pushing strength and on occasions when Ali didn't get a clean hold of him he managed to push Ali off him.
It's been a while since I watch that fight though.
