I punched something too hard a few weeks ago and since then, every time I punch with that hand again my middle finger's second knuckle swells up and it hurts very slightly when I push down on it. Is this permanent?

Have your hand looked at by a physician. If your knuckle isn't fractured, it should heal on its own if you stop punching with it for a while and give it a chance to heal.

sounds like you have a hairline fracture. ive fractured my hands several times and i always let them heal on their own. the only recurring pain or weakness that remained was actually in my wrists.

Don't think it's a hairline fracture. I literally had my first one of those a few days ago in my arm and it feels very different. The swelling goes away until I punch something again (anger issues haha) so maybe I do just need to wait. Haven't seen a doctor yet.

Don't punch with it for a while and it will probably heal itself. I've stuffed up my hands a few times and you just have to let time do its work

    Go to a+e

It might be permanent. I broke my finger last year near the knuckle and it still hasn't healed, nor will it ever.
