Golovkin went to 34-0, with 31 KOs, picking up the IBF belt in the process beating David Lemieux. I was really, really impressed with Golovkin yesterday, and he proved all the doubters wrong who said he can't box, and is just a slugger who gets hits too regularly. His jab was unreal, knocking David's head around all night, his shots were measured and precise, he barely took any punishment. Where for GGG next, will the winner of Canelo v Cotto really fancy fighting him? And if not, where would you like to see him go. Personally, I'd like to see him unify the middleweight titles, but failing that I want to see him fight James DeGale.
DeGale would be a very good fight Unlike Froch who was too scared, DeGale will have the ***** to get in the ring with him
He'd walk down De Gale for fun. James doesn't have the power to keep him off of him, nor the stamina, and can you imagine James sitting on the ropes letting GGG tee off on him? He'd never get off!
DeGale has said he'd fight him, and for the right money I think he would. Also, DeGale is way bigger than Lemieux, he's 6'0.5 inches tall, David is 5'9. I'm not saying he'd win, or I would pick him to win, but it's interesting. Also, DeGale has a pretty good chin, and is an awkward opponent.
Of course he hasn't, but all I'm saying is that it's one of the better fights out there. Canelo/Cotto won't want it in my opinion.
If Billy Joe Saunders beats Andy Lee there's no way he'll fight GGG, unless they offer him some crazy money. I would love to see him get the chance to unify though.
Anyone who had doubts about the boxing ability of an Olympic silver medalist who has never been down once as an amateur or pro needs to have a word with themselves. He puts DeGale and BJS flat on their vacks leaving them wondering if the pay day was worth it with supreme ease.
That sounds like a good idea for his next few fights. Will these guys fight him, or wait until he gets "old?"
You do know deGale won gold don't you so I don't think GGG silver medal would mean much to him It would be a tough fight for GGG jus for the size and as deGale has some good boxing ability Still think GGG would win but it would definitely be his toughest fight to date
Who cares if DeGale won gold? He has been nowhere near as impressive as a pro. He gasses in all of his fights and GGG would have far too much for him and stop him late on.
