We can't really say what would have happened - RJJ would never pass the drug tests today. He's was juiced to the gills.
Roy's athleticism could very well carry him to a clear UD, but GGG could end the fight with one punch.
How many fights has GGG ended with one punch? He had a smaller man in front of him last night and couldn't do it. Even when he took a free flush cheap shot. Jones Jr. would beat the brakes off of GGG at 160. Too quick, too powerful. GGG would get ****d by Hopkins at 160 as well.
I see people calling for Roy to knock out early a man who's never even been staggered in nearly 400 amateur and professional fights with much less cause to support their pick. Picking Roy is fine, but if you don't see Golovkin's one punch power, you're blinded by bias. And while mature Hopkins would be a stylistic foil over GGG and would be a nightmare matchup, the version that Roy fought gets knocked out. Without a shadow of a doubt, 1993 Hopkins doesn't last the distance. Think that's hyperbole? Here's the case: '93 Hopkins that fought Roy was green and nowhere near the fighter he matured to. How green? Not only was that title fight Bernard's first title shot, it was his first time facing a top 10 rated fighter, period. He didn't win the next time he faced a top 10 rated middleweight, either. In fact, he got floored multiple times against Mercado, who was himself nothing more than a journeyman that never beat a rated fighter. Mercado wasn't even NABF level. Hopkins finally did beat a top 10 fighter and begin his title reign...in 1995, 2 years after he fought Roy. So let's cut the malarkey and quit pretending that the 1993 Hopkins that Roy faced (and couldn't floor or knock out) would've had a snowball's chance in hell against GGG. He was light years away from the fighter he'd grow to become. I give Hops full credit for the transformation, but I'm not going to twist the narrative that he was this great fighter when he fought Roy to make Roy's resume look more impressive. He wasn't. He grew into that, but he certainly wasn't close to a great fighter in 93. Golovkin would've had a field day on that Hopkins.
roy jones moved up to hw.hes fought better and bigger guys than the triple duck little g doesnt fight outside of mw
:rofl:rofl Jesus imagine GGG connecting on that deplorable mandible. Even one of his jabs would have him on bambi legs
You sound like you're about 16 cause obviously you never seen Jones in his prime. His biggest mistake was going up to heavyweight and then trying to come back down. I don't recall any fighter successfully going down in weight once they've moved up. Do you?
