Here's how I see it: 1. Roman Gonzalez 2. Monster Inoue 3. Juan Francisco Estrada 4. Amnat Ruenroeng 5. Shinsuke Yamanaka 6. Kazuto Ioka 7. Donnie Nietes 8. Hekkie Budler 9. Katsunari Takayama 10. Anselmo Moreno (F*** Payano) 11. Brian Viloria 12. Moruto Mthalane 14. Carlos Cuadras 14. Omar Narvaez 15. Pedro Guevara Just missed out: Zolani Tete or Srisaket Sor Rungvisai
I take it you're not including 122 hence no Rigo, Donaire and Frampton. List is solid. Needs Cuadras though...and yeah Payano too. Otherwise I cannot fault it. Liking Ruenroeng ahead of Yamanaka actually.
I thought I had Cuadras in there. Above or below Narvaez? Omar ran into a monster, there was nothing he could do about it.
I'd have Cuadras at 11 or so. Narvaez could arguably be shifted up a few too. No shame in being hammered by Inoue. The kid is astonishingly good. He was champ for years after all.
1. Chocolatito 2. Estrada 3. Nietes (Becoming the Filipino Marquez great technician) 4. Chihuas Rodriguez 5. Monster Inouye 6. Viloria 7. Moreno 8. Yamanaka 9. Ioka 10. Tyson Marquez
Sorry elchivito, but it's not 2010-2011 anymore. Viloria and Hernan Marquez are not even in the conversation at this point.
Rodriguez is interesting. Based on his entire body of work he could easily be Top 5. It's just hard to rate someone hasn't won since leaving their division. Tyson Marquez isn't even Top 10 at fly, though.
Brian Viloria in the last 2.5 years: L Roman Gonzalez W Omar Soto, 23-11-2 W Armando Vazquez, 23-12-1 W Jose Alfredo Zuniga, 11-5-1 W Juan Carlos Herrera, 9-7 L Juan Francisco Estrada He has not beaten even a remotely fringe low quality contender in two and a half years. I know his losses in that stretch are to two of the best right now and he's had a great career but nonetheless Viloria is not in the conversation for top 10 nor top 15 sub-122 right now. He simply isn't. I know it's all opinion but to say that is to sell way too many other guys short.
Mano, don't be slippin on me. How can you say T. Marquez and Viloria aren't relevant? Yes, they got beatdowns, but they both have plenty for people to talk about them both. Marquez especially looked rejuvenated and gave Estrada some good scares in that fight. Viloria looked good and was in the fight even after getting dropped and even before bowing down to Chocolatito he momentarily had Gonzalez hurt with a doozy of a body shot. For both Marquez and Viloria perform the way they did before getting stopped, which was expected, it's pretty obvious both still have afew good fights in them.
Take Mthlane out too. He's a good fighter, but he's not done much recently and is nearly as inactive as Ward. Takayama a bit too high too.
