Well, it appears that one needs to be a slimeball like Floyd or Broner to make money in boxing, so I suggested ways for Golovkin to be like those slime*****.

It could be argued that Floyd's borefest (unless you like that sort of thing) with Pacquiao put a black cloud over boxing and are partially to blame for GGG's (and boxings) lower ratings. Not to mention his out of the ring antics which couldn't have helped.

Oh ya, and Gatti had been in epic wars and everyone loved his heart and style. He was a fan favourite.

Mayweather had absolutely 0 to do with the numbers of this PPV event. (with the exception of maybe GGG) didn't drop his name enough times, lol. The borefest as you call it. Was Mayweather being Mayweather, anyone who felt cheated should kick their own ****... Because they brought his previous 7, 8 PPV's same situation.

GGG failed on his own accord.

150,000 buys don't sound like the next big star

Golovkin isn't Latin enough or black enough to be a PPV star. He'd need someone like Ward, Cotto or Canelo to even reach 500k

You are spot on that Mayweather just fought like he always does and no one should have expected differently. I sure didn't and I actually enjoy watching him do his thing. It is extremely impressive. However not that fan friendly at the same time. The point I am trying to make is that, when may weather was entering the sport, it was in a good healthy state (Roy Jones, Lennox, Oscar, Tito, etc). The sport was doing well so people were intrigued about up and comers. Mayweather's style, as good as he is, does not attract fans. Especially now that MMA has grown so much. Fighting Berto as his "last fight" was also pretty weak. But different story.

But GGG did not fail on his own accord? He won convincingly. He can't make people like/watch him. He just has to do his thing and hope people get on board.
