Flash Knockdown.. Didn't De Valle knockdown Roy Jones? Did he win thou? No.. Joe won that fight 10-2, 9-3 it wasn't even close.
yes but hopkins was about 42 or 43 when he fought calzaghe so there's not much of a difference. the only fighters who can beat kovalev are fighters who hit just as hard. calzaghe would feel that power and go into his shell immediately. kovalev didn't even bomb hopkins out or outmuscle him, he outboxed him. it had nothing to do with his age.
Handspeed, work rate, and Boxing IQ...plus s chin of pure steel...Lacy was a deadly punch and He never hurt Joe...
out of joes opposition, theres no need to go further or higher - byron mitchell would have beaten him given a fair ref, but was stopped for a slippage in the first round when he had floored joe. kessler would have had him without an injury. reid arguably beat him already.
Will have to agree to disagree on these. I think Joe beats Mitchell any given Sunday. Where do I find more evidence on your Kessler injury claim? I've googled and come up with nothing. For the record, Calz threw over double (1010) punched in that fight. Any version of Kessler would have struggled with that level of punch output. Reid, close fight but the right man won Imo.
and yet in the event joe beat retiring version of Mitchell who'd just lost out on a NABO title bid, joe using a cheat stoppage on slippage, and refusing a rematch immediately. hmmm... any given sunday, so why no rematch for a stoppage based on a slip? its everywhere. he wasn't struggling with it until his injury resurfaced. he was ahead. yeah right man, you see it the way you want to see it. I'm never going to pretend joe didn't beat bika and veit. I am just pointing outnthe real discrepancies.
funny thing for a guy who joined in October 2015 to say. Alt detecter says NO. and here you are on the same old threads with bailey typing the same arguments.
This content is protected 46 fights he was unbeaten and I know that strikes chord. This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected This content is protected Glory, glory Joe Calzaghe! Glory, glory Joe Calzaghe! Glory, glory Joe Calzaghe! This content is protected :hi:
Hopkins is slow compared to Joe. Hopkins throws like 25, 30 punches a round, Joe does about 100. Hopkins boxing skill and IQ is in Fouling.. Joe is in clean Boxing. They do both have a great chin thou.
One thing you have to remember about Calzaghe is that he was trained in a shed with broomsticks for ring posts by his dad who had no prior boxing knowledge. Having being a big puncher in his early career he then suffered through serious hand problems and was able to adapt his style and continue fighting. Was he mentally the most confident fighter, no I don't think so. This may have been his biggest weakness. His achievements however are not to be looked down at given his background. Do any of you think you could roll up some carpet for a punching bag, get your dad to hold it and become a world champ?
