Is Kovalevs resume getting very overrated?

    Hopkins: 50 years old, out of his natural weight division. Made to quit in a few rounds by Chad Dawson years before.

    Pascal: Past prime, soundly beaten by Froch at his optimum weight. Never great to begin with, solid B level.

    Apart from these two his only notable win is Darnell Boone, and many believe Boone was robbed in his first SD loss to Sergey. Also heard the KD was very very heavy, interesting how all footage of this fight seems to have disappeared into thin air :think

    Still major question marks over his chin, being knocked out in the amatuers and knocked down by the likes of Capparello in the pros.

    I think Beterbiev beats him and Stevenson is 50-50

    Yeah, you can do this with every fighter, what's the point. He's got a good resume, best at LHW.

    I guess it depends on what people think is the rating level.

    I rate Kovalevs resume above Wards, yet many rate Wards resume highly.
    I think most would have favoured Hopkins over Kessler and Froch, yet Kovalev won that very clearly.
    Kovalev has also beaten a top undefeated world champ which is something Ward hasnt done as of yet

    He just doesn't have a real standout win.

    Stevensons resume is on par id say. Both have decent resumes, just not great.

    Kovalev beat a fresh Campillo quicker than Beterbiev beat a shot one.
    Caparello had wins over Berridge, Green and Muriqi which are decent scalps.
    He beat White by KO who beat Sukhotsky and went the distance wither Marcus Browne.
    Mohammedi has KO wins over Ngumbo (something Fonfara couldn't do) and Dudchenko, not bad.
    Kovalev beat a fresh Cleverly who was schooling Fonfara until he got his nose broken and he still went the distance and didn't go down.
    He beat Hopkins coming off wins over Murat and Shumenov which are both better wins than any of Stevenson opponents in the last year.
    Pascal has lost twice both in close with Hopkins and Froch 2 ATG's.


    Kovalev's resume is fine.

    I agree with that. For that to happen he'll need to beat Stevenson, Ward or Beterbiev at some point. I wouldn't say his resume is overrated, more like it is accepted that it is as good as it can be without any of the above being on it. If that continues for any real length of time, then I think you'll see opinions turn.

    I love the hypocrisy of a Khan fanboy saying another fighter's resume is overrated. They really have no self-awareness whatsoever.

    His resume is fine...2016 will be his year.

    This whole Haymon v Main Events garbage has been brewing long enough.
    At some point in 2016 Stevenson/Fonfara/Beterbiev will have to face Kovalev.

    Prince has had hundreds of alts mainly over on the british forum.. his main one being Cupid Stunt.

    hes a metntally ill ****stani guy with no life whatsoever , in almost every post hes anti white, and literally begs to be a part of the black race..., crie over every word said about Khan and black/mixed raced fighter.s

    I never said it wasn't 'fine', just overrated. Its certainly no better than Stevensons. Suspicious lack of power punchers on his resume as well
