    Hi Guys,

So i posted this in another thread but it wasn't the main topic.

Basically i want to know if there is any point trying to outside box this guy, or if i should just try to get on the inside.

I know hes not very good but he still gives me a little trouble.

    (im 75kg 5'11 hes 110kg 6'3)

You have to make yourself shorter when you fight tall guys.

just go inside, you did the right thing on the ropes. you should do it whole the time, with bobing, sliping, changing angles.

also, when you throw lead right, you duck and thats fine, but then you go outside. stay inside, you ducked to avoid his right so now you have to counter.

if you wanna outbox him by staying outside you need to do some movement - double deck defense while he is punching is the last thing you should do, he is strong, you feel punches through gloves. So, dance around him, feint, make him miss and tired.

also, try to throw more straight punches when there is a distance between you

Keep moving and constantly pepper him with the jab to make sure he can't set up an offense. It seems whenever he gets punched, he puts his guard up and stops throwing and stops moving.

The big guy is a prime example of why a lot of muscle doesn't mean good fighter.

Fight on the inside thats where big guy struggles they have longer arms so they want to jab and cross and keep the distance get inside and get the body.
You did a good getting him on the ropes and bopping and weaving.

I would work on conditioing I can tell you were exaughsted because he was getting you with the jab at the end overall good but you need to fight a more skilled fighter

Thanks everyone for the reply, lots of helpful stuff.

In terms of just going and finding a better sized/matched opponent, I get that but unfortunately don't have the luxury of doing so, my gym is full of mostly lighter weight fighters or a few guys a lot bigger than me.

    Just working with what's available.

This is awesome advice, I see what you mean now, instead of ducking and moving out, I could feint the right hand and step IN instead of OUT, thus being closer for inside shots. thanks man, really good stuff.
