Nobody else embarrassed and sick at the way this moron taunts and humiliates over matched, physically smaller, weaker and clearly frightened opponents? The clown was 200-1 ON against Jeter on Saturday night, meaning it was impossible to do anything other than win, just get on with it and stop trying to act like your dad when you're a man in your mid 20's. He's 0-1 against opposition where he was anything other than an obscenely clear favourite. A bit of humility is well in order here. Footage of a sparring session isn't much of a career highlight when you're supposedly such a huge talent.
His dad annoys me more. There was a video of him training and Snr kept looking at him in awe and then at the camera as if we was watching some sort of miracle. But the "he isn't anything like Snr" rhetoric does me in too. He is a complete rip off...
Boxing needs it's form of characters or it would be boring. I enjoy the hype around him, long may it continue.
Yeah not a fan of that side of his game, enjoy his fights but that bit puts me off a lot, much like when Selby used to taunt a lot more also.
Yes I didn't like the way he was swaggering about vs. Jeter with a demeanor he never had vs. Billy Joe.. Just pathetic. All he done similar to that vs. Billy Joe was eyeball him between rounds which is just utterly pointless.
The main purpose of the son's career seems to be to massage the father's ego and get him back in the spotlight. I believe Eubank Senior when he says he wants Golovkin for his son, purely because of the world wide attention it would garner for him personally.
The more it annoys people, the more he'll do it. People generally don't tune in to watch nice guys fight unless they are exciting knockout artists, golovkin and joshua spring to mind. Casuals won't be tuning in to watch tim bradley or andre ward because they are nice guys and don't provide much excitement. It's much easier to be hated than to be loved in boxing, and being hated and having millions tune in the hope of watching you get knocked out is an easy money maker, look at floyd.
I dont quite get it either. Seems all a bit unecessary to me. Eubanks junior looks a bit of a talent. Hits hard. Plenty of ko,s. Generally good to watch. Its becomes frustrating watching him try and rip off his old man. He looks good enough in his own right not to need to do it. I dont quite get why they want the public to hate him...bearing in mind he has all the attributes to be an exciting fighter without all the nonsense.
:good Spot On English (Sr) always talks about how he was an entertainer, didn't matter if you loved or hated him you watched him and Jr is just doing the same. I think the thing that will harm Jr more is Sky, they need to be real with people, they do the same with Joshua, they do far more damage by having 10-15 minute promo's for a mismatch and then telling the viewers they have just witnessed "greatness" after said fighter has just battered a well overmatched opponent. Boxing fans don't like that, they don't like mismatches and they don't like to be Bulls***ed and boxing fans and even casuals know when they are being spoon fed bulls***.
Compare this to Benn's son conor. What a nice guy he is, will be mega marketable due to his name, he's totally humble and down to earth, and looks like he will have the similar brutal knockout fighting style of his dad too. Look for his recent interviews on YouTube. Eubank junior is letting senior destroy his career IMO. I used to enjoy watching seniors fights, but he needs to fook off now and leave his son to get on with it. Embarrassing to watch.
Chudinov wasn't a mismatch on paper. He was the interim belt holder, unbeaten with an excellent amateur pedigree and was coming to win. Eubank's stock rose quite significantly with the one sided domination and stoppage IMO and I say that as someone who attended the Excel fight and was cheering on BJS. I think Eubank has the greater long term potential and looks to have the more dangerous power, stamina, athleticism, determination, frame for the weight than BJS. In 24 months under Booth's tutelage I expect Eubank Jnr to be the clear number 2 or 3 in the division behind GGG and Lee. GGG will be closer to 40 then than 30 whilst Eubank will have only turned 28. He has real potential IMO
hes going nowhere except the train to journeyman. too robotic, too limited, too muscular and not fit for more than 6 rounds.
Playing the 'heel' doesn't make you popular, but I think guys like Eubank jr, Broner and even Pruince Patel give colour to this sport. Because you love to hate them. I think Eubank Jr. is a big prospect, not as good as his father, but he can be in some great matches in the future.
