Now that the PPV has flopped tremendously, do you expect GGG to go back to reg HBO?

    After that weak ass showing, I wouldn't be surprised if Little g is back on ESPN.

    Utterly laughable.

    Honestly, did I expect the PPV to do a little better? Absolutely. Was it a flop? Clearly not. Someone out there is lying and claims it did 97k buys, but the truth is clearly that it sold just over 150,000.

    The fight did make money, albeit not as much as it could have. There was an electric atmosphere at M.S.G., and I didn't regret spending the $60 as I have after so many disappointing PPV purchases.

    The plan was never to be exclusively a PPV fighter. To get Lemieux to risk his belt they needed this to be a PPV, since HBO wasn't going to pony up a $4M license fee.

    GGG picked up a belt that is important to furthering his Middleweight campaign, and will probably do great PPV success if a Cotto, Canelo, or Froch steps up to the plate.

    Unlike the PBC and Al Haymon, GGG has been a financial success for everyone involved.

    Nah, ESPN only televises barnburners like Alexander vs. Martinez and Taylor vs. Soliman.

    Fact of the matter is - It did well below expectations and they lost money from it, this is almost a certain.

    With all of the expenses... you can be sure that they weren't happy with it.

    That's why he's going back to normal HBO. :yep

    With guaranteed paydays like that, who can blame him for taking it easy and phoning it in the last 3 years? He doesn't even need to generate ratings to make a couple mil per fight.

    If he fight Canelo or Cotto it will be PPV

    But if he fight someone like Ward @172 it will probably on reg HBO

    Correct. PPV was a boxing success, and financially made profit (120k to break even so they did alright). I wonder why people forget to factor in canadian ppv revenue, I bought it and many I know bought it, I am certain it did well here.

    GGG is going to have to get some solid names under his belt, if he plans on becoming a PPV star. Other than that it's not happening.
