Hello I have been going to this gym for a year or so now. I have no problems with anyone or the trainer. The atmosphere is great the gym is great. The problem is this Iv been asking the trainer for some training as I want to fight he does not give me training he gives the training to the other people. I have seen people who started after me sparring in the ring and getting help. I dont know if it is racist im the only asian one in the gym. I want to be trained but im not getting any attention no pad work. I have the same routine which is getting annoying everytime I come I am waiting for him to train me but no. I want to stay but the only way I will improve is if I get training tips and advice and help sorry for the long sob story its been bothering me
Go to him with you're complaints. If he doesn't comply with exactly what you demand in your post then leave that gym asap because you will never be a priority to him and will never get where you want to go.
I have told him previous I want you to train me and no one else I told him you were a professional fighter I want you. He said ok and then trained me a little 1 round of pad work then nothing ever again it became very rare for any attention now its been a month and he has not trained me at all I go to the gym and just do my usual routine he does not train me he trains the others.
I feel I should get some training I pay money for training I feel im just paying money to use the equipment. Im so hungry for learning but I love the gym so I dont want to leave it but I got to think whats more important for me
when im in the gym I push myself hard I never slack. I always come in never miss a day I do extra outside as well the reason i started jogging was to improve in boxing. I am not Ali or tyson but I try and it does seem he only trains the one who he sees are prospects which is annoying because I want to fight in the amateur division and compete
It seems you have 3 options here. 1. Like you are already doing keep looking for other ways to improve uour ability. Such as coming on here seeking advice studying other boxers looking for good routines and drills all with an intention of bettering your boxing abilitys. This will take some time to work through and put into practise. You need to then give yourself a reasonable amount of time, min 6 month but more like a year for you to really improve your boxing and to get the trainer to see that you have the potential to become a prospect for reresenting the club. 2. The abas arent about training prospects only and anyone whos a lvl 1 coach and above knows that. At its core Its about working with the youth through boxing. And if its true that the coach is only interested in prospects he isnt upholding the true function of the abas. But its true that a lot of trainers are only interested in prospects. You could look for another club and try find a better trainer. 3. If he is a racist and you honestly believe this and your not just upset because he doesnt see you as a prospect if you honestly believe hes racist report him to the abas
I am not sure if he is racist he does not treat me any different just does not train me. I am thinking of talking to him one last time and giving one chance if he does not then leave and find another. Or I could talk to other members who have been coming for a long time im talking years see if they could talk to the trainer and see if they could see and resolve any problems
Speak to your coach if you're going to speak to someone, speaking to other members about your coach is only going to cause issues. If you're paying and don't feel you're being trained correctly then you should speak to your coach and let him know your goals. If he fails to help you reach those goals go elsewhere.
Have you applied and executed the things he has told you already? A coach's time is limited, especially in amateur gyms. When he teaches you something you must go away and perfect it. You can also learn from other boxers in the gym. No experienced boxer will refuse to pass on what they have learned. It's not all about the pads, if that's what you are getting at. MAKE YOURSELF A PROSPECT!!
No we never we did pad work 1-2 times thats it. I come to the gym train my backside of and show up I try my best I come in do skipping and shaddow boxing and then body work and bag work. I do everything that is possible for me to do
