By whom?? Point these posters out to me if you will. All the real Pavlik fans get to do is play defense at ESB.:yep Is he hyped so much because there is a small pocket of posters at ESB that won't concede that Pavlik gets KO'd by everybody down to Calderon?
For the most part, I don't see much Pavlik hyping. Looks to be more threads against Pavlik than ones praising him.
2 irish fighters prior to their last fights were so overhype namely John duddy and Andy Lee:rofl Amir Khan:rofl
Very sharp observation skills, as usual Brook. We don't start any threads, just play defense on the ridiculous one's brought up. Learned long ago, that any thread trying to show appreciation for Pavlik attracts the Calzombies like bugs to a light. So it is best to just appreciate in silence. LOL.
There's just a small minority who claim Pavlik would ko King Kong, most seem fairly reasonable about his ability on this forum. Very good but not elite. Yet?
No doubt. He's not even made one defense of his title yet. We will have all the answers in a few years time.:yep
Pavlik does not get hyped all that much. Like Pipe Wrenched said, it's mostly a handful of us playing defense on the hate threads. So far every time Kelly has stepped up to the next level of competition he has walked away with an impressive win. I think it is ironic that last year Pav was an undefeated prospect, and now he is widely considered the dominant middleweight in the world. But this year the undefeated prospects have been dropping like flys in a Raid factory. Pavlik will continue to improve, and he will continue to win. However, here on ESB the Slappy joe fans and the PBF fans will continue to hate on him because these fans are one-dimensional; they simply do not know how to appreciate a multiplicity of styles. For them, if you ain't flashy, you're a raw slugger that's just waiting to get beat. These are mostly the same guys that predicted Miranda and Taylor would both beat Pavlik, and that BHop would be lucky to win one round against slappy Joe. Apparrently they don't know much about boxing.
