How is a man with more career KO'S than SRL considered a runner?

That's an overstatement and incorrect. For ONE, at 140 Floyd was actually far more aggressive than he was at 135, so that makes no sense.

To say Floyd looked for knockouts is false though. Floyd's primary objective has ALWAYS been to outbox guys. That's not to say he wasn't more offensive minded then, because he was, but scoring KO's was rarely his primary objective. If his offense put enough hurt on guys, he DID jump on them and try to take them out when he was younger though.

But with Leonard, Ray WANTED to take guys out everytime, despite being blessed with the skills to outbox them.

He set up his attack methodically, and behind his great skills, but all the shots he set up and put together were done so with the intent to STOP guys. He had more killer instinct than Floyd EVER had, and it's not even debatable.

The REAL misconception that fans have nowadays is that prime Leonard was some stylist and mover. They probably got that impression from the Duran rematch, which was the FIRST fight of Leonard's career where he was focused on primarily outboxing the guy.

The younger generation thinks of Ray Leonard as some "cutey". He wasn't. Prime Leonard wanted to fucck guys up and take them out.

 

I wouldn't categorize Mayweather as a runner, he's a boxer. But the comparison with Leonard to prove your point is laughable. Sure Mayweather has one more KO, but Mayweather also fought 13 more fights than Leonard and Leonard fought better opposition on top of that.

 

He can obviously work with lower numbers due to having fingers and toes.However,these dont help with percentages!!

 

Probably something to do with Floyd being juiced out of his mind after a training camp with Ariza and Memo, yet deciding to play paddycake with Berto for 12 rounds.

 

Because sugar ray actually fought dangerous fighters in their prime.

"Money" Mayweather fought out of prime non dangerous fighters for the money.

You know that why else make a thread about this? If Floyd was so great you would not see the defensiveness. We all know he is a fake zero having already lost to castillo and avoiding dangerous fights that would have given him losses.

Let's face it he's not respected, and its not just because of his behavior outside the ring.
