Does GGG have the weakest "RUN" of 160 champs in recent memory?

Very weak. One of the weakest ever for a guy with "Rousey type Hype"!

    Of course.
The division is so weak that a welterweight moved up, snatched the WBC MW title for an old Martinez, and is now holding the fight of the year with another welterweight for the MW title, at a in limbo junior MW/MW caught weight.
This fight is far bigger than the actual MW unification bout between Golovkin and Lemieux, a one sided non-competive bout between two b-level MW champions.

exactly, Bernard has no unification at the same age.

or another example, if GGG was doing a calzaghe at 33, he'd be stuck with just his IBO title and nothing else like joe had the lesser title and nothing else the same age. but 3G has way more than a lesser title, he has unified with one of the big three also AND defended the unification.

wait what? pavlik? i'm his biggest fan left on this board but his run as champ was embarrassing. he held the title hostage while he went in and out of rehab. he did smack rubio around but that's about it. now pavlik's run to the title was very solid and is what made me a huge fan.

He is a titlist. Therefore, we compare him with other titlists at MW. His run is much better than tons of recent MW belt holders.

This is true. Golovkin maybe regarded as the best at 160lbs but he hasn't proven it. Hopkins was also regarded as the best middleweight titlist for years before proving it by unifying. Luckily he had a welterweight come up and bring the money to the division to allow Hopkins to unify, it's a shame that Cotto hasn't show the same desire and self belief that Tito did.

So as a titlist Golovkin's run is what you expect, filled with nobodies, a few decent guys but no outstanding names. Wait until he's at least been given the chance to prove himself before comparing him to ATG's.

I understand the need to backlash against the unsubstantiated hype that Golovkin generates and Golovkin may not be half as good as many hope and believe but people should still judge his achievements in context.

He's not had a bad run - there are some weak fighters in there but has fought guys like Macklin (fringe world level), Geale (world level), Lemioux (world level), Murray (fringe world level) and then it doesn't look so bad.

The likes of Cotto are running wild from him so he really needs the likes of Andy Lee, Quillian (why have they never rematched btw) and Jacobs to improve his list of wins. He certainly not the worst belt holder out there in terms of opposition - I actually think its pretty decent.

people on here still talkin about "Bernard this or that....what did bernards run look like at 33.....what did bernards mw run look like".....Bernard became a legend for what he did after his mw days.....if you are ok with with ggg being Bernard Hopkins if he stopped at 33...then that's fine...good for you.....but hell have to do a lot more than that if he ever wants to come close to being put near bernards name........
