I was not impressed with Monzon like others were.

He's not graceful by any means but he's tall, strong, smart, tough, methodical, heavy handed, calm and he controls range. I like him, real bad ass aura about him.

There are too many other sports it has to compete with now, plus forms of entertainment. There will be some boxers who capture the publics attention and get the sport a lot of attention for awhile, but not like years ago. Keep in mind, that in the pre-1960's, many people boxed as kids, it was as common as playing baseball or basketball is today. The sport you do as a kid you follow as an adult.

 

I'd certainly be reluctant to bet big against him vs any MW ever. He has a good chance against any of them.
