Canelo is simply not as good as Cotto

Cotto can't throw with Canelo. He'd better stay on the move and box, give Canelo angles and keep those slow feet off balance.

Canelo will win. He has everything favoring him, including pride.

Cotto already said in 24/7 that he only fights for Miguel Cotto. If you consider he has quit before, then you know that comment is a not psychologically beneficial for him...

... Canelo on the other has good pride... He wants to go down as a great, he wants to fight for his country and for his fans. Canelo is obviously hungrier than Cotto...And the fact that Cotto dropped the WBC belt leads me to suspect he feels he may lose this fight and be done with boxing... This is his last major payday and he knows it, that is why he probably screwed the WBC over... He certainly knew he'd be black labeled by boxing for this unethical move.

Also factor in the common opponent in Trout.

Cotto is done... Count on it.

 

This is Cotto's best and probably only chance. Lucky for Canelo, they both lack in the stamina department.

 

Canelo is going to Margarito him. Not because Canelo is like Margarito in fighting style, but because he's stronger and younger, and good enough to land on Cotto. Even if he's outboxed by Cotto (I think Cotto is a better boxer), he will land solid here and there and Cotto will wilt eventually to the stronger, younger man. I am rooting for Cotto, but I think Canelo takes it. Don't dislike Canelo, but Cotto's been around for longer and his fights are good (so are Canelo's but he's newer).

 

If Cotto was in his prime i would favour him clearly.

 

"Better" has too many meanings. But I'm pretty confident in Alvarez winning.

 

Canelo belongs to the top of boxing right now, next to GGG, Kovalev, Wlad. He will knock Cotto out within 5 rounds. He's an awesome fighter and proably did not even reach his prime yet. He's young.

 

I agree with this, it might go the distance but I think it's a money grab
