winning rounds without hurting is not schooling, it's just outpointing but according only to the judges. floyd trend making boxing a scoring game and not the dangerous sport it used to be as a hurt business where only the warriors play and get payed. it does not require a player to use hard punches anymore as it does not count. just slap, run, and hug and they get a belt. all bouts with out anyone hurt should be no contest for boxing to return to it's former identity as a warrior sport. hh could not have defeated rr if not due to the power of boxing.
A hurt business? Go watch Jack Johnson. Go watch Ali. It was never a hurt business. Lol biggest mytb in boxing.
You either think Canelo was effectively stalking his opponent and controlling the fight, or that Cotto was effectively keeping Canelo at a safe distance and making Alvarez look helpless and without any idea as to how to cut off the ring. Canelo rarely hit Cotto with damaging combinations, and when he did manage to hit Cotto hard the Puerto Rican always followed up with good combinations. Can anyone here not admit that Canelo is protected? He actually got one judge to give him the fight vs Mayweather, which was a true "schooling" if I ever saw one. He lost to Lara, let's me honest, he did the same thing: follow his opponent around the ring looking like a tough guy but rarely landing and telling blows.
I think Canelo essentially stinks--which is why he spent his career fighting blown up fighters while he himself has always been the bigger guy. His career is a lot of smoke and mirrors and the pandering is disgusting just to have a so called superstar. True boxing fans can see through that ****.
I don't think he is THAT bad, but he's certainly a protected boxer. Mexico needs a tough guy with massive huevos and he fits that bill. I respect the guy for his courage but yes, his skills are demonstrably lacking when he fights good opposition.
