He will use the cowardly excuse that he is not ready to fight at 160 and try to coerce GGG into a stupid catchweight. But GGG has all the marbles as the WBC has said canelo must fight him next and the WBC doesnt care about coward de la hoya and canelo's stupid weight clause. Canelo will then vacate the belt instead of facing GGG. Mark my words.

Example of selective reasoning, take the ****ty source and use it as "truth" ignoring multiple more credible sources with a different higher figure.
In most cases this is tactics used by wardos or fl$mos...

Won't be at a catchweight for a mandatory fight so Canleo can either fight at 160 or duck and drop the belt in disgrace.

What makes your legacy in the end? the number of belts you got or the names you faced?
GGG is missing something and that is the names.. Maybe he should change his focus..

cant believe this is what boxing has come down to...one middleweight title holder telling another that he has to fight him at "his weight" or there is no fight :-(

If Canelo does ditch the belt to avoid Golovkin then I am sure the Mexican fight fans will turn on him. The Mexicans are a very proud people & Mexican fighters are known for their courage & cojones. They will never accept a coward as their hero. To retain credibility Canelo MUST defend the title at 160 limit. Anything less & he's a coward

GGG - 16 title fights at middleweight
belts won - WBA, IBF, WBC interim

Canelo - 1 title fight at middleweight
    belts won - WBC

anyone who thinks GGG isnt the middleweight champ is delusional

take that "linear" title and shove it somewhere, thats what its worth as of 11-23-2015

Canelo shouldn’t have to vacate his title. The Jr Middleweight Division has two vacant titles at 154-lb, shouldn’t that be high priority? Canelo is long overdue for a title shot for those 154-lb titles.

It’s absurd to suggest that Canelo would have to give up the belt after what we’ve seen from Floyd over the last 2 years at 147/154.

The best thing Canelo can do is hold on to his belt and fight for the vacant 154-lb titles in his next fight. Canelo has a belt, and it is a huge psychological advantage, one that Canelo has earned, to carry the Lineal Middleweight Championship of the World into the ring in a 154-lb Title Fight.

Instead of all this nonsensical talk about how Canelo should be stripped of a title he just won on Cotto’s terms, we should be praising Canelo and discussing who he should fight next in the 154-lb division!!

You do realize that Canelo AGREED to fight GGG next right?
So you think he should be let out of that agreement?

If he chooses to go and be a 154 pound fighter, then good for him. I wish him well. But he can't just take the 160 with him and not expect to be stripped.

Sure he earned that belt. And he beat a HOF fighter for it.

But what about the mandatory shot that GGG earned? Should he not get his shot?

I believe Canelo will earn and deserve a ton of respect if he does one of two things:

1--give up the 160 title and go back down to 154 and become the undisputed champ there

2--give GGG his mandatory AND agreed by Canelo at 160.

Anything else and I believe he will be rightfully crucified.

He doesn't need that payday, you idiot. He just needs a belt. Canelo's scalp would be fine, but if he insists on 155, he can go to hell and deal with disgust from his fans.
