Why do you think the fight with Fury got cancelled?

I thought everybody was aware of what happened!

You really believe that Haye would beat Povetkin so easily??

David is 35 and last fought over three years ago... and has only had two meaningful bouts in over five years...that's a lot of rust to shake off at his age, believe me.

Add to that, stylistically I consider Povetkin to be a terrible match up for David. And the fact that David is talking about a fight with Tony Bellew tells you how confident he would currently be about mixing it with the second best heavyweight on Earth.

    But I could be wrong.

I personally don't think Haye is even bother about another title shot. I think he has seen the hype and publicity surrounding AJ and thought imagine how much I could make off this!

A not impossible scenario, I suppose.

I tend not to keep up with what's happening with Haye since he retired...he can be a world class nob when he wants to be.

David is a very talented boxer, no doubt..but he is a H.O.F self promoter!!He is an absolute genius at that stuff!!

IF he does come back, he'll do what he always does, talk about Wlad (and Povetkin) and fight one (two at the most) low risk fights then fight Fury/AJ or Bellew and make an absolute fortune!!

I too do not get why Povetkin is so underrated!!

Like a guy in this thread correctly stated, AP is undoubtedly the second best heavyweight on the planet right now and (imo) is a horrendous match-up for any version of Haye (never mind the current version).

Most likely Haye is running out of money, so he is getting another PR gravy train going to fleece the public one more time. I would be shocked if he has any interest fighting Wlad or Povetkin.

This is a good fight. Povetkin doesn't seem like a fitness freak but yet he fights decent fighters and wins. He's a good fighter but he's not too big.

Povetkin would be walking on to Haye's punches all night. I'd expect a fairly easy win for the Hayemaker.

I swear some people are blinded by their hatred of certain fighters. Haye may be a total **** but in his prime he was one of the fastest, hardest punching HW's in some time.

If he comes back and is even 80% of what he was I'd favour him against almost every HW even now.
