Let us not blame Canelo. I really don't. Because he's seen Pacquiao do all of this B.S for years now and saw how successful he was with it and how he got away with it. Therefore, why shouldn't he do it?

When Pacquiao does it, people look the other way and B.S the public.:nut

When Canelo does it, it's suddenly the worst thing the sport has ever seen. :nut

Stop being so black and white.

Pacquiao came up from 106. It's a unique circumstance.

first of all, canelo wasnt a former flyweight champ..he started at 140 i think.. and 160 is like his 4th division to fight in as a pro.. while pacman on the other hand, he started the CW when he was fighting on his 9th divisioin (welter).. where he is definitely undersized

i dont have a problem if canelo asks GGG to fight him at a CW. coz GGG is really huge compare to canelo.. i would say 157cw is fair on both parties

Fact is - People are criticizing Canelo for things Pacquiao did, and Pacquiao did far worse.

So that's why I'm giving Canelo passes. This is fair, very fair.

**** the Pacquiao fans man, they're so hypocritical :nut:patsch

"Martinez has to fight us at 147 and we need to have a rehydration clause to 150 by fight night" - Team Emmanuel Dapidran Pacquiao

"Mayweather needs to come down to fight us" - Freddie Roach

That's all that really needs to be said. And we ain't even talking about the B.S catchweights that happened in real fights!!!

    ^ this.

Pacquiao is TINY. Canelo is arguably bigger than GGG.

Can't argue with that one, he's the main player in this and Cotto as well. It seems like Roach is the pioneer of this bull****.

But honestly, the problem is the ruling. If you allow it, boxers will take of anything for an advantage, the rules must change to not allow catch for titular fights, that's all.

There's only really one reason why this keeps happening. It's because the fans turn a blind eye to it and overlook it.

When they do it, it opens a Pandora's box. Fighters in the future will entertain it and keep trying to con the public. Pacquiao kept doing it and now we have fighters doing it too :patsch

Pacquiao wasn't the first to use catchweights to his advantage, but he may have taken it to a new level, and combined with Floyd's moves along similar lines, it's now become an artform that many are trying to exploit.

For better or worse, it's a bargaining chip.

He of course was not the first, but he really did take it to a whole new stratosphere. And now we have more and more fighters doing it in high profile fights. :patsch:lol:

There are consequences to such B.S, and we are only seeing it now. I suspect we haven't even scratched the surface of what is going to happen in the future.
