I think GGG want's the fight and so does Canelo, but we know Boxing politics are huge in negotiating fights, Canelo and his team want it at 155, GGG want's it at 160... It comes down to the one who is the shotcaller.. That would be Canelo and GBP. so if GGG really wants that Green belt, he's going to have to budge to Canelo's demands because A. he's not the Moneymaker and B. His PPV numbers in his debut will be used as leverage to negate any demands GGG may request.. This is Boxing Politics, And The WBC will not strip Canelo Alvarez.

 

Why do you want it to happen at 155 so much? Are you banking on GGG getting drained? That's pretty lame lol.

 

It's not my call or yours either, so we have to sit back and let it unfold. To think i have any kind of control over what weight they fight at is pretty lame lol.. I don't have that kind of power! I can care less at 155 or 160.

But, in this instance you are 100% correct!!

I HATED all of those "Mannyweight" fights and I regularly said so at the time they were made! Especially when their were world titles at stake and the champion was "Asked" to boil down to a weight which was less than the division limit.

Now, before some smart @rse chimes in with "Well, they should not have bothered and just refused the fight" they were looking at losing millions of dollars since Pacquaio was the big draw!

But the challenger, demanding that the champion should fight at less than the division limit really left a bitter taste.

You want to fight for a guy's title? Then let him weigh in at the division limit if he so wishes. He's too big for you to fight if he weighs in at the division limit?? Don't fight him!!

Now, we have people trying to implement "Rehydration cluses" for God's sake!!! It's a disgrace!!

I don't care who does it. Catchweights shouldn't be allowed in title fights. They should only be used to get two fighters who are separated by a division or two to fight and even then, there's usually a weight limit within 4lbs.

 

And a lot of the same guys that condemning it then are acting like it's ok now...
It wasn't ok when Pac did it, although he had a somewhat more legit reason for it, and it isn't ok now.

I don't see how you could "care less" if you want to see this fight so badly, the only way to assure that both guys will be at their best is by the fight happening at the full limit, period.

 

It already happened with Floyd Mayweather.
