Here's what Vitali had to say after the fight If Wladimir listens to Vitali, he'll win the rematch. If not, he won't.
I keep going back to your description of what Helenius' father said about Wlad in training. I'm not sure Wlad has IT now at the world-class level. He would have lost to Wilder tonight, maybe worse.
I know what you mean....I kept feeling like Wlad should have pulled the trigger and time and time again he didn't. There were even times when it looked like Wlad started to punch, but pulled it back. It reminded me of Holyfield in his later fights, great shape physically, just couldn't pull the trigger. Is that what is going on with Wlad, or was he just too ana_lytical and froze himself out? A bit of both? Wlad is almost 40, so the next fight will surely tell. Fury did what he had to do though, I give him credit.
I lost no respect for Wlad tonight. It's not about that. I guess it's about how certain things evolve physically and mentally. I'd hate to see him lose back-to-back. That would impact his legacy for sure. And, re Vitali: Vitali knows exactly how he'd fight Fury and it's in his comfort zone. We all know that Wlad has never been Vitali.
Agreed. Yep, Vitali is a different type of fighter for sure. Not necessarily good or bad, just is what it is.
