Wilder is packing glass but he's quick and has a quick jab and he's long and aggressive. In order to beat him you're probably going to have to get inside on him where he is basically useless.

 

Wilder has to look up to see Grant. Grant beat Demetrice King. King is demonstrably supperior to Wilder.

These guys are morons.

Grant actually might have been great, but he picked the wrong man to fight stupid against. Lennox Lewis destroyed him. He was never the same after that, that messed him up mentally.

I don't see Wilder getting low and standing in front of someone like Lewis, at least has never done it in his career.

And even if Wilder was Grant, he still might be an undisputed champ and have a great career. Because there is no Lennox Lewis in the HW division right now, there may not have been one in history to be honest. Anthony Joshua has the potential but that's about it.

 

As far as "hype" goes, they have very similarities.Grant probably had the better skill-set but Wilder has better athleticism and maybe better power.

 

Actually, Tyson Fury had more similarities to Michael Grant until last night. Grant and Wilder don't really have much in common, I think its a lazy, quasi racist comparison made simply because both are hyped, tall black HW's.

Challengers were knocked down a couple times against some of their better competition

Meanwhile, about all Grant and Wilder have in common is their race and the fact they were both really tall. Grant had a very good resume for a non belt holder challengers. Wilder's resume is criticized, with some justification, because he's a belt holder. Grant didn't have remotely the power that Wilder had. And it looks like Wilder will never fighter a more established, respected long term champ like Grant did. If he loses, it will be more to a peer, rather than being exposed by a long lasting ATG representing a defeat of a generational change.

I always thought the Grant Wilder ****ogy was lazy and bad, and it got even worse after last night.

 

Wilder has no inside game. Fury would rough him up on the inside.

Wilder is a poor man's version of Michael Grant. Grant, at least, fought and beat some decent fighters prior to being exposed. As soon as Wilder faces a live body, he will knocked out early just like Grant was.
