Fighters in the lower weight class routinely fight opponents with 2-3 inches in height advantage. In Pac's case, he's given up 5 inches on a few occasions. Fury had about 2 inches on Wlad and a few inches in reach, that's nothing.

Wlad forgot the most important aspects of fighting a tall opponent. Cut off the ring, attack the body and maintain range. He followed Fury around, never attacked the body and jump out of range when Fury throws a punch. He basically reset his stance every time Fury threw something.

After years of fighting scared and clinching his opponents to death, he forgot how to fight. He was the ultimate troll and then he got trolled by Fury. Wlad need to watch a few GGG fights if he want to learn how to beat Fury.

There were two things I've never seen before with Wlad:

    1. He had Fury right in front of him, Fury was off balance, Wlad starts to execute his straight right. Then breaks off the punch in the middle of the motion. WTF? Sky commentators were wondering WTF that was lol
    2. After one clinch in the mid rounds, he got turned around. He thought the ref will break it up, but he didn't. Wlad turns around and gets tagged by Fury like a bloody amateur  How on earth can that happen to a guy with 64 fights?

So yea, Wlad looked like an inexperienced beginner at times. Whatever mind games Fury was playing they clearly confused him.

Fury stayed on the outside making it impossible for wlad to punch and grab. What surprised me was a guy with a phd couldn't figure out that furys arms are longer than his!LOL

There were so many occasion where he starts throwing a punch and it turns into a grab. That's because he's afraid of getting hit. So instead of follow through with the punch, he pulls back and tries to grab at even the slightest chance of getting countered.

He doesn't know how to fight another way. It's part of his muscle memory now. I think Steward took Wlad to the extreme when it comes to fighting cautious. In many ways, because of his hit and grab style, he lost a bit of power in his punches because he never fully commits to a punch.

Ppl tend to forget stuff when they keep getting hit in the face. The irony was that there wasn't actually that much hitting going on strangely enough.

I noticed that too, he started to punch and then pulled it back...reminded me of a baseball player stopping his swing....I don't know what that was about, but it was unusual, for sure.

This is a great fight to watch Wlad throw the way he needed to on Saturday.

Old Wlad was fun to watch. He threw left hooks and right hands with some mean intentions. New Wlad just wants to hug you and squeeze you.

Wlad was basically exposed as what he has always been, a limited fighter, a one or two trick pony.
Don't get me wrong he's been a good champion, but as soon he was faced with a challenger of his size with a bit of movement and a jab, he had no answer.

    This.

If Wlad wants to beat Fury he needs to dig out the videos of when he was in his twenties. :bbb

Exactly, you can't forget what you've never known.
He was limited from the start (especially mentally), but the weak era he was in let him get away with his limited style.
(aswell as the home advantages he enjoyed which let him use his excessive holding-leaning tactics illegally for too long).

He was exposed and shut down by a very limited Tyson Fury, which makes me wonder what would've happened had he met a really talented size-wise and skillwise HW.

To me it is astonishing that a reigning champion cannot fight on the inside, cannot make changes on the fly and cannot press action and gamble when urgency is needed.
The excuses here are too funny. He "forgot" how to fight inside and press action after some years??? Did he forget how to swim or ride a bicycle aswell?
