This may not have been true for most of his career, but in the eleventh versus Tyson Fury he completely zeroed out whatever brownie points he previously had banked in one moment of mental weakness.

    [yt]yVThOtwj1Ic[/yt]

This was extremely poor character, and showed Wlad's true colors under adversity, regardless of what a gentleman he may have given the impression of being for most of his reign. As they say, if you build a thousand bridges and suck one cock, you're not a bridge-builder, just a cock-sucker.

This was pure frustration, as flagrant and egregious a foul as you will ever see. Klitschko realized his titles were slipping away, so he chose in that moment to behave like a complete and utter child (and somehow the majority of us missed it live).

Compare with the Victor Ortiz intentional headbutt on Floyd Mayweather, Jr.:

    [yt]hO6g7CRJ4as[/yt]

Every bit as bad. Same exact bucking antelope motion, too. :verysad

In light of this, I am increasingly glad that Klitschko lost. Nobody deserves to remain champion following a stunt like that (for which Tony Weeks easily could have disqualified him). Doing this made it benefit the sport for him to lose. I just wish for the sake of the sport's good name that it had been someone other than Fury. :yep

Yeah that was pretty bad, there's no excusing that. I like how Fury reacted to it, looks to the ref, ref does nothing so Fury starts throwing punches.

Yeah, clean ones, too. Very professional response, I've gotta say.

Because of one headbutt? You're exaggerating.

Although I agree that the whole gentleman image is very overblown.

Not one bit more of a gentleman than most past champions, bar few.

Yes because of the one headbutt. When have we seen him in serious adversity? That is truth serum, and it was under these conditions that he revealed his nature.

That there is a man reduced to pure frustration.

No way the ref didnt see it.

Holyfield did that in every fight, so what.

I saw it, ref saw it too but didnt deduct a point.

But I dont really see it as so bad in the heat of battle, not worse than many other fouls out there.

Wlad doesn't have a steel plate inserted like Holyfield, makes it a bit more real deal when he butts you.

No, what Evander did was drill in with his skull in the clincheds with his feet planted.

That is bad enough, but a far cry from what both Klitschko and Ortiz did. They propelled off their feet and leapt headfirst into their opponents' chins. Much worse than just your run-of-the-mill grinding of melons on the inside.

Holyfield is the worse offender in terms of quantity, but the severity of Klitschko's butt in this one instance dwarfs the routine Holyfield pulled in most of his fights.

Wlad's entire strategy has been based on stiff arming and holding. I'd rather watch Wlad headbut people for 12 rounds than clinch for 12 rounds.

The headbut was one of the last things that made me lose respect for him and his camp.

The gloves issue, ring foam, platform shoes, scale weight rigging, possible drink spiking etc just show what type of people he has surrounded himself with.

You must have missed the cuts that fury's head left on Wlad's face.
