Hello all, this is my first post so be gentle I've got 2 tickets for this fight and taking my young son for his first experience of (hopefully) a high octane boxing show. Does anybody have an thoughts on who might be on the undercard, I'm hoping for some really good names/bouts. The doors open about 5.30 but I guess the main event will not come on until about 10 ? Does it usually work that the closer to the main even you get the higher the profile of the undercard fight ? Cheers !
yes haha, I wanted to just start again but couldn't see where I could delete the thread - indeed I mean Scott Quigg vs Carl Frampton - I now I've found the 'edit thread' tool
Not heard much really to be honest, i suspect you'll have prospects form both Matchroom and Cyclone promotions in domestic fights (not against each other mind). Maybe a couple of names against no hopers as well Hope you enjoy either way! The main event will be a corker
I think you're right Paddy, BM/Cyclone have just announced that their new hot prospect is going to be on the card, but to be honest I'd rather watch boxers I've been before. Do you think Frampton has the measure of Quigg in this ?
I've always fancied Quigg in this fight to be honest but a result either way wouldn't really surprise me.
I reckon Burnett will be on there, few of Barrys fighters like Cummings and Cacace, not sure who else.
I guess there will be at least 1 other well matched 50/50 fight and then a who's who of matchroom and Barry McG fighters. However the atmosphere for the main event will be amazing so you both will have a great night.
Thanks Porky, I have warned my lad that it's likely to be a boisterous and noisy affair with lots of swearing and passionate shouting, he seems very excited by that
should be a belter this one, gutted I cant get a ticket, yet! just got mine through for BJS - Lee which I expect will be another good one! as for undercard for Manchester - wouldn't be surprised to see Cardle back out, maybe rocky fielding will be there too. doubt the likes of Cal Smith, Campbell or any others will be on though.
Don't know about undercard. Re timings, TV likely to start at 8 so bigger name fights will be then building up to the main event I have taken my 12 yr old to a few shows at MEN arena, always had a great time. Not sure how local you are but if you want to make an event of it try and take him to the weigh in aswell - he will see a lot of the fighters, promoters, ****ysts etc
The Manchester Arena is great for boxing as well the way the seats are laid out. I was there for Calzaghe Lacey and quiet a few other big shows over the years.
