Understand board have banned Gavin due to the bar brawl. Timescale wasn't mentioned, will be discussed at a meeting later in the month apparently.

Read the news reports and Gavin has been on here to remove some of the hyperbole from the papers.

Part that gets me. Boxing is in a good place but this appears to be in spite of, rather than helped by, the board and governing bodies.

The judge has ruled, got his community service. Why take his ability to earn a wage

If the board want to be moralistic, suggest they look at the drug cheats. Not condoning Gavin but BBBoC should focus on boxing

When I was on probation they always said it was their priority to keep you in employment.

Gavin in my opinion should be banned for a long time, any boxer who attacks and uses their abilities outside of the ring shouldn't be allowed to box in my opinion for a long time, until the board feels that they are to be trusted again.

Define long time? I'm in favour of a time ban for behavior like this but it should be nominal

Similar thing happened to John joe nevin in Ireland, numerous court cases for drug and disorderly and the judge showed a lot of leniency and aloud him to be free to travel to america to train

However I think it was plan to see john joe nevin was very at risk and boxing was the only way to get him back on track, same could be said for Gavin though

To be honest I am not sure, I think it should be a case by case thing where you do it based upon severity of actions and the mental state of that person at the time. I feel that a year should be the very minimum for the smallest of things and generally 2 years or more for that sort of thing.

There lies the problem ,, they stick there nose where its not concerned that was a familly dispute nothing to do with them , they gonna sack another board member if it comes about he shouts at his wife therefore abusing her in the minds of some others , doubt it ... We have courts to decide punishment who the **** made them judge and jury ,, anyway if people stop paying there fee's ect and join the malta mob ,, watch the love for boxing go out the window when the free tickets , well payed excursions go out the window ,,, If they want to stick there nose in anywhere , demand promoters especielly some who shall not be named , pay there fighters instead of shutting up shop and going broke

I'm sure he can fight in another country once his community service is over.

    Frankie should just retire now.

He's obviously earned decent money, his career was underwhelming, and in danger of being over if he lost to Eggington anyway.

He really should have done more than reach British Level, though.

All due respect to Curtis Woodhouse, but on paper, Gavin should have had a clean sweep in that fight. That was when alarm bells started ringing (fair play to Curtis though, he turned out to be a solid pro considering his experience).

Then he went life and death with Bundu (and nearly got stopped) who showed he isn't world level.

Kell gave him a bit of a beating.

Very talented fighter, but maybe his style wasn't suited to the pro game. That and his questionable desire to "live the life" and his current situation means he's best off probably calling it a day.

If he turns it around he's going to have to make HUGE changes.

Might be to late in the day for that though now.

I've always rated him though. Solid set of skills, IMO.
