I never had really understood the plaudits of Lennox, good yes, but great ?? He got knocked out twice, he beat a washed up Mike Tyson and past prime Evander Holyfield....just !! He also would have lost to VK had it not been stopped on cuts. I'm happy to be schooled by those with a deeper knowledge than I but is it only me who thinks perhaps the legacy doesn't really match the (Canadians) highs and lows ???

To be honest never saw him, only read about Berg. If I studied it I am sure it would change. Looking back I can't believe a never put Benny Lynch on my list, me coming from Scotland as well!

 

I do not blame you for falling out of love with modern boxing, the alphabet rankings are an utter joke.

John Simpson was the unluckiest boxer in Britain over the last 10 years. On the wrong end of many decisions over the likes of Stephen Smith, Derry Matthews, Paul Appleby and a couple other I can't remember. Hard as nails, Lee Selby came to late for him but was also too much.

Tyson Fury...you would not know with him what happens next, done well last week though, credit to him.

Yeah I really rate Frampton, fancy him over Quigg.

Taylor is talented, I do not know how far he will go though. Sometimes felt in the amateurs once he was figured out he became one dimensional.

Kell Brook has all the talent in the world to be a legend but his career has been like driving at 40mph on a motorway!

 

Yeah he ticks all the boxes so far. Very exciting. He never won the Olympics, that was shocking in fact but as pro so far he has demolished everyone.

 

Yeah he had some story. Sad ending though, depression era gorbals with alcohol ruined him.

 

He'd be one of the first names on my list. He beat the real kid chocolate and was knocking off Mae West... he was a fascinating character - my father was a friend of his in his later years when he was his bookie.

Apparently he was one of the nicest blokes you could hope to meet. He once had Hagler and Jack in his shop at the same time which is a remarkable - two HOFers in one space in Soho in the 80s!
