After watching the lame weigh-in 'brawl' between Hopkins and Wright I then went and watched the Mayorga/Vargas ruck that took place at their press conference. What struck me most is their eagerness to fight eachother and the sheer passion and anger as the heat escalted. Both fighters looked like they were going to explode and to be honest for entertainment value it would have been a laugh just let them go at it there and then. I'm afraid that one brawl in the press conference is going to be better than anything we see tomorrow from Hopkins and Wright entertainment wise. Mayorga and Vargas beating the crap out of eachother, surprise fight of the year candidate ? Maybe so.
Neither guy has the stamina to make this a candidate for FOTY. that being said, I agree with you that it could be a very entertaining fight, especially compared to the Hopkins-Wright bout tomorrow.
Does anyone think this fight will actually last beyond 8 rounds? I do hope they beat the hell out of each other. I may dislike them but both know how to put a good show.
A fight of the year doesnt need to go very long at all, i expect this to last a little while and be very entertaining. Come on Mayorga
