The opposite, actually. If Whyte has been nabbed with substances that enhance you, surely he'd know the tell-tale signs of a user? :think
Watching the AJ-Whyte amateur fight recently, I was struck by how much of a smaller build Johnson had. Comparatively speaking, you would almost describe him as skinny compared to now. Not casting any aspersions, but the contrast is marked.
Tbh hes not put on that much weight , on the burns/crawford undercard nearly 2 years ago he was 17st dead , today he was 17st 7lbs , not a huge weight hike in 21 months tbh
Anthony has arms that look like they'll be absolutely screaming for oxygen after 5 rounds. You only pack that much shredded muscle by saying your prayers and taking your vitamins every day.
Good post 2 above. Watched some of joshuas fights yesterday. Looks like he could go on to become a bit of a force tbh. One thing i did notice tho was in two or three fights he seemed to be struggling with his arms. Shook them out a couple of times etc like tiredness was setting in and obviously all fights were over before the fourth round. Them big arms are gonna come down as a fight goes on.
Still say fury beats him in a tough fight. Fury an underrated thinker in there. Thats what i think most of the olympians struggle with. Their getting some good training through the system. But for me it nullifies their ability to think for themselves to an extent. Joshuas got the basics down well like all the olympians but if he doesnt overpower someone which wont be many it ll prove his downfall. Klitchko and Fury will beat him if they fight in the next year or two and possibly haye or haye of a few years back anyway.
Didnt Cleverly do the same thing going from 175 to 200 in a year or so to fight Bellew in the rematch?
These threads always polarise opinions. You get one side, probably folk that train and use steroids themselves, who attempt to legitimise their own steroid use by claiming "every athlete takes them" Then the other side as so naïve that they believe drugs tests mean all boxers are clean. The truth will be somewhere in between- where you get millions of pounds at stake then human beings will seek every advantage possible to set them self up for life- and will use drugs. Boxers get tested but the testing is sub standard compared to other sports like athletics- yet the majority of those who use PEDs in these sports obviously go undetected- if the majority of people who used drusg were caught then folk wouldn't risk using them. Drug tests, even the biological passports, the latest in drug testing, are beatable if folk know what they are doing. Someone mentioned Lennox Lewis huge weight gain- but we are discussing the rapid gaining of lean mass. Lewis was never in great shape. I've gained 24lbs in 11 days before but it was all fat and water. Joshua appears to have gained solid muscle, 19lbs in 2 years from his first pro bout- that is absolutely extraordinary weight gain, even for someone who is completely new to training and only focuses on weight and muscle gain and body building. The fact AJ has gained such lean mass in such a short space of time, when he is already a trained athelete and doing huge amounts of daily cardio is highly suspicious.
Joshua turned pro weighing 230.75lbs for his first fight, that was October 2013. He has just weighed in at 245lbs for the Whyte fight 26 months later. So its a load of b*ll*cks or, if you prefer.ALOB.
